Historic Kenwood Garden Workshop

Historic Kenwood Garden Workshop We are gardeners in Historic Kenwood, St. Petersburg, Florida that enjoy helping our neighbors. Sometimes we makeover a neighbor yard.

A group of about 30 gardeners that meet monthly to enjoy the various aspects of gardening. Sometimes we go to a garden shop and listen to the owner give us a lecture. Once in a while we go on a field trip to a special garden. It's all about sharing what we know, what we've grown and, of course, eating as we do it. Always a good time with friends. We are part of the Historic Kenwood Neighborhood Association.

Historic Kenwood is planting trees! 🌱

Trees provide a variety of benefits including clean air, shade, and wildlife habitats.

Neighbors can apply to have a grant-funded tree planted in their right-of-way.

Applications and more info can be found at the link in our bio - “HK Tree Planting Application” or access the link at

For the month of November, Tom and Kim will host (2710 8th Ave. N) a workshop for creating small container gardens. This is an opportunity to construct a small planting that you can take home. This can be a lot of fun!

Kim will provide succulents and cactus plants, tools, potting soil and various decorations for the container planting.

She asks that you bring your own container-think of funny cups, beautiful bowls, concrete or ceramic dishes, wacky or weird, etc. Volumes below two cups is maybe too small and a quart, or so, is maybe too large.. She finds many of her "dishes" at thrift stores.

Tom will bring beverages.

As usual, please bring some breakfast goodies and some seeds or plants to share.
