Here are the results from our 6/2/2026 routine enterococci survey inside Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay Waterkeeper routinely tests and reports the bacteria levels of your favorite waterways. The presence of enteric bacteria can be an indication of f***l pollution, which may come from stormwater runoff, pets and wildlife, and human sewage.

Water Quality Categories:
Good = 0-35 enterococci per 100 milliliters of marine water
Moderate = 36-70 enterococci per 100 milliliters of marine water
Poor = 71 or greater enterococci per 100 milliliters of marine water

“I see it firsthand. I see it everyday. What the water quality looks like, what it can look like. If you don’t fight for that, then you don’t have a Tampa Bay as it stands.”

Board Member Capt. Dustin Pack on why he is involved in our efforts to protect, improve & preserve the Tampa Bay estuary.

This morning TBWK partnered with for their Global Volunteer Day. We cleaned up along the Hillsborough River in Tampa.

Thank you to for providing kayaks and paddle boards for the cleanup! It’s always a unique and impactful opportunity to get out on the water and cleanup along our waterways. We appreciate all of the Fanatics volunteers who signed up and continue to support our work year after year!

We had a successful morning in Tallahassee continuing to amplify our community’s desire to protect the Terra Ceia Aquatic Preserve and surrounding waters. With momentum on our side, know that we’ll continue to fight to protect this special part of Tampa Bay. This is a long term fight, but it’s safe to say that we are not backing down. 💪

Protect. Improve. Preserve

The Annual Waterman Fly Fishing Tournament meant a little more this year. With the threat of the Skyway Cruise Port on the horizon, we gathered in February to celebrate a competitive weekend of fly fishing for the state’s spookiest fish (yes, the Tampa Bay redfish) only two miles away from ground zero of the proposal to build a mega cruise port with inevitable severe impacts to the coveted Terra Ceia Aquatic Preserve and surrounding waters.

We are grateful for a legend like Andy Mill for his willingness to share stories and experiences from the past, but to also push all of us to fight to protect our waters for the future. We are also appreciative of all the anglers, sponsors, supporters and guests that made this year’s record setting event special and more purposeful than ever. This video is sponsored by

We’ve got a long way to go, but events like the Waterman Fly Fishing Tournament give us a fighting chance!

If you are interested in supporting our organization, please consider participating in our Inaugural Waterman Inshore Slam taking place July 10-11, 2026 in St. Petersburg! See link in bio for more info!
