Some people loved us but didn’t know how to sit with the reality of our life.

Some stopped asking because they didn’t know what to say.

Some expected us to stay the same version of ourselves, even when everything had changed.

And then there were the few people who stayed (for a little while).

The ones who understood cancelled plans, no replies and hospital updates.

Special needs motherhood can make you grieve relationships you thought would always feel safe.

It can also show you who your real people are... although for me, most of those dropped off as the years went by and our lives became more challenging.

That is a big part of why I created The Sanctuary. Not another place where you have to explain your child, defend your exhaustion or pretend you are coping.
Just support, regulation and women who already understand the kind of life you are carrying.

💙 Family Sensory-Friendly Swim Night at Skyview Pool 💦

Join us for a special evening designed for children with autism ages 5–18 and their parents/guardians to enjoy a fun, relaxed, and sensory-friendly swim experience together.

📅 Saturday, July 18
📍 Skyview Pool | 9040 54th Way N, Pinellas Park

To help minimize crowd size and overstimulation, two small-group sessions will be offered:
🕓 Session 1: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM
🕡 Session 2: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Families will be assigned a session after registration closes.

✅ Limited to 20 children per session
✅ Drinks and light snacks provided
