SPYP is getting our hands dirty for a good cause! 🌱💚

Join us on Saturday, October 17 as we partner with EverForward to refresh and beautify the outdoor spaces at one of their residential group homes for children in foster care.

EverForward supports children and families healing from trauma through residential care, mental health services, and family support. We’re excited to spend the morning giving back and making a difference right here in our community!

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, bring a water bottle, and come ready to help! Closed-toe shoes are required. Have landscaping tools? Bring them along if you can!

Join SPYP this Saturday October 3rd as dedicated volunteers for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a powerful community event raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. 🔬💜 The event runs from 7-11am, and there are time slots available.

Activities will include Greeting, Registration and Check-In, Setting up, Cleaning up, Tent/Booth Attendant, Giving out water, Route monitoring, and cheering people on!

SPYP is proud to partner with the Eckerd College College Organization of Students (ECOS) to host a Candidate Forum featuring candidates running for Mayor and City Council this year! 🗳️

Join us THIS Monday, September 14 from 6-7:30 PM at Fox Hall at Eckerd College for candidate opening statements and questions submitted by SPYP and ECOS.

SPYP members can submit questions ahead of the forum by DMing us or emailing our Advocacy Chair Will Shedden at [email protected]. Questions will be reviewed and selected by both organizations to help guide the conversation.

Stick around afterward for a reception with the candidates, light refreshments, and an opportunity to register to vote.

Join us as we team up with The Jackson Copeland Foundation to stand-up to blood cancer on Thursday, September 3rd at 6:30pm at Pinellas Ale Works for Lifesavers & Laughs, a wonderful chance to join the DKMS US Stem Cell Donor Registry with a simple cheek swab. After you register, grab some good b**r and stick around for a lots of laughs courtesy of StPeteStandUp Comedy.

WHO: The Jackson Copeland Foundation, St. Pete Young Professionals, and St. Pete Stand Up Comedy
WHAT: A donor registration event for the international DKMS Blood Stem Cell Registry.
WHEN: Thursday, September 3rd from 6:30pm to 8:00pm (followed by a free comedy show for everyone who registers!).

WHY: For many patients battling high-risk leukemia and other types of blood cancer, a stem cell transplant (also known as a bone marrow transplant) is often their only chance at a cure.

Unlike blood transfusions, stem cell matching is not based on blood type; it relies on a complex genetic marker system called HLA typing. Because these matches are so specific, many patients cannot find a suitable donor within their own families and must rely entirely on the kindness of strangers around the globe.

There are patients out there right now waiting for a matching donor, and you could be the exact match they need to survive!
