City Council will take its final vote this Thursday (tomorrow) on the proposed Residential Parking Permit Program ordinance.

The proposal would create a new Neighborhood Resident Only Parking Area (NROPA) program, adding another tool to the neighborhood toolbox for areas experiencing significant overflow parking from nearby businesses, employment centers, events, or other destinations.

This proposal does not automatically create any parking districts. Instead, it establishes a process that neighborhoods could choose to pursue if they meet specific petition and parking study requirements.

Because this proposal could affect neighborhoods across St. Petersburg in different ways, we encourage residents and neighborhood leaders to learn more, review the details, and make their voices heard before the final vote.

We've put together a summary of the ordinance, key details, and important considerations for neighborhoods along with a button to email city council if you're unable to make it here:

What an amazing turnout tonight at the District 6 Candidate Forum!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to come out, ask questions, listen, and participate in this important community conversation. We were blown away by the attendance more than doubled our expectations, and we kept bringing out more chairs throughout the evening!

A huge thank you to the League of Women Voters, our neighborhood association partners, volunteers, and the candidates who helped make this event possible. Your commitment to civic engagement and informed decision making is what makes our community stronger.

Most of all, thank you to every resident who showed up and made your voice part of the discussion. Tonight was a reminder that when neighbors come together, great things happen.

MASTER PLAN UPDATE
The Master Plan has officially been published, marking an exciting transition from planning to implementation. As we enter this next phase, we're pleased to introduce a key addition to the team: Gia Ferrulo, who has joined the Innovation District as an implementation consultant specializing in outreach and project management for mobility efforts.

The Master Plan implementation team now includes Alison Barlow, Nisuka Williams, Jack Feldman, and Gia Ferrulo. Successful implementation depends on strong partnerships, and this team will work closely with stakeholders across the district—from neighborhood associations and community organizations to the City of St. Petersburg and local developers. Together, they will bring people together to help steer the future of the Innovation District.
