Over 13 Monday evenings, you'll go behind the scenes with City departments and community organizations. You'll meet the people who shape our city and connect with neighborhood leaders from all over St. Petersburg.

C**A’s Flood Control Planning & Resiliency Committee has been meeting with City staff throughout the year to better understand the challenges facing our neighborhoods and the major infrastructure investments being considered to address flooding, stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water systems.

Committee Chair Will Michaels took a deeper look at that work in the Northeast Journal, including the City’s St. Pete Agile Resilience Plan (SPAR), proposed flood-control projects, and the $600 million General Obligation Bond that will appear on the November ballot.

The article also highlights C**A’s call for strong oversight, meaningful neighborhood representation, and continued investment in solutions such as blue-green infrastructure and additional planning for storm-surge mitigation.

C**A’s Public Safety Committee recently met with St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway to continue building stronger connections between our neighborhoods and the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Public Safety Chair Deirdre, along with Co-Chair Christian Sidwell, represented C**A in a conversation focused on communication, collaboration, and how we can better connect neighborhood associations with public safety information, education, and resources.

Keeping our neighborhoods safe is a community effort, and strong relationships between residents, neighborhood leaders, and our public safety partners are an important part of that work.

C**A’s Public Safety Committee looks forward to continuing these conversations through quarterly meetings with SPPD and finding new ways to bring useful resources and information directly to neighborhoods across St. Petersburg.
