Not so breaking news

10/07/2026

The fields are wetter than a post-game handshake line, the bases are basically swimming, and unless your kid has secretly been training for water polo, we’re calling it. 😂

⚾️ Games? Struck out.
🥎 Practices? Benched.
🏏 Batting practice? Not a swing and a prayer.
👟 “But Coach, it doesn’t look that bad…”? You’re way off base.

We hate to dampen anyone’s spirits, but please stay home, stay dry, and resist the urge to show up with a rake and a bag of Turface like you’re about to save the World Series.

ALL NELL FIELDS ARE CLOSED TONIGHT.

NELL Family - As you might have heard, read or saw on many news or social media outlets, our friend and neighbor was critically injured on Sept 10 at the Mobil Station on 1st St and 40th Ave. Christine is a NELL mama, friend and community member that many of you know … and / or you know her kiddos or her husband Mike.

If you are able, please consider helping in their recovery from this tragedy as she has a long road ahead of her.

Better coaches = a better experience for our kids. ⚾️💙

This morning, our NELL coaches, assistant coaches, and parent volunteers had the opportunity to learn from the incredible team at Arsenal Performance Training, and this was exactly what we hoped this clinic would be.

We had great questions, plenty of “oh yeah, I forgot about that” refreshers, brand-new drills to bring back to our teams, and new perspectives on how we can teach the game more effectively.

Because no matter how long you’ve been coaching, there is ALWAYS something new to learn.

A huge thank you to Brian Tollberg and Ricardo Lizcano for giving us their time, sharing their knowledge, answering our questions, and helping our coaches level up before the season.

Our coaches showed up today because they want to get better for their players. And at the end of the day, that’s what this is all about. Giving our kids the best possible experience on the field. ⚾️

And NELL families, if you liked what you saw today and want to give your player some extra development outside of team practices, go check out Arsenal Performance Training!

Brian, Ricardo, and their team work directly with young athletes on hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, and overall athletic performance. Whether your player wants to sharpen a specific skill, build confidence, or take their game to the next level, we are incredibly lucky to have this kind of resource right here in our community.

Go show them some NELL love, follow Arsenal Performance Training, and check out their programs at ArsenalPerformanceTraining.com. 💪⚾️

Thank you again, Arsenal, for investing your time and knowledge into our coaches and, ultimately, our kids.

Now let’s have a GREAT season! 💙❤️⚾️
