In honor of the U.S. Air Force’s 79th birthday, we’re highlighting USF student veteran Julian Guillermo!

Before joining our campus community, Julian served six years in the U.S. Air Force as a Parachute Rigger & Air Transportation Specialist, stationed in Kirtland AFB.

Today Julian is pursuing a degree in Accountancy & Analytics at USF, with the goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Happy Birthday, U.S. Air Force! Aim High! ✈️🇺🇸

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, military-connected students from the Office of Veteran Success at USF St. Petersburg joined first responders, veterans, and service members at Al Lang Stadium for the Tampa Bay Rowdies’ annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

Together they climbed 2,200 stairs — 110 stories — in honor of the first responders who ran toward danger that morning, the lives lost in New York, at the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania, and the families forever changed.

We will never forget. Thank you to the Tampa Bay Rowdies for hosting this tribute.

Tonight, OVS celebrated our two cohorts of the Veteran Impact Program (VIP). Big shoutout to our donors and campus partners for their help in making this program flourish. And a huge congratulations to our two honorees of the Veteran Impact Leadership Award, Thomas Wells and Ryan Spiker. A final thank went to Chloe Kramer for her coordination in the creation of the program. We are so proud of all our veterans and can’t wait to see what comes next!
