We had two exciting days on island this week. Our first container of tools and fabrication equipment (and my bike😁) was delivered yesterday. As well as the closing for the house in Florida.

We then closed on the farm this morning. (Look closely and you can see the top of the sugar mill in the background)

The house project is finally complete!!! It was a long time coming and a lot of hard work, but the results speak for themselves.

Ain't no stopping us no now!!!
The remodel at Poets' Plaggen has begun.
This first step kicks off steps that will have us going for at least the next five years.
HVAC is the first of the trades for us here besides what David Huber and I have been doing.
Bam!

Just I want to give a shout out to a fantastic local company in Largo.

They were the best price of the bids I got and had next day turn around. Alas, one piece in the order was not made correctly to my drawings. I called them this morning and they made me a new piece same day. I also added a few more pieces of trim which they then twice refused to let me pay for.

Way to go Dan! You have won my loyalty with your excellent customer service.

Our First Two pineapples harvested at Poets’ Plaggen Community. Okra and tomatoes are still going strong. We remulched the front around the bananas, Moringa, and orange. And have been eating delicious figs right off the tree every day this week.

This week we built a seedling table for Poets’ Plaggen Community. 314 seeds started - 24 different plants. Mostly tomatoes, chilies, and eggplants. In the photo you can see our nearly full compost bin and 50+ peaches on the tree.

We have completed building the 8 raised beds at Poets’ Plaggen Community. 47 varieties of seeds arrived today and we will start germinating. Already have squash, pepper, tomato, green onion, and red and white cabbage growing.

The foreground of the photo shows 17 baby pineapples coming in. We have been making Valencia orange juice the past few weeks and look forward to peaches and limes soon. There are also hundreds of blue java bananas still plumping up. The avocado trees are in full bloom and the bees are loving it.

Anyone thinking now is the time to install raised beds and/or a food forest in your yard, let us come out for an estimate.

Demolition at Casa D’Arte is finally complete!
Big thanks to Paw Materials for their excellent work.

Anyone who would like to earn time credits working on landscaping please reach out. We will be building raised beds and planting fruit trees in the front and side yards.
