SCENE & HEARD: Saying goodbye to summer with a photo recap of how we spent it! Thanks to all the artists whose talents and arts experience made our summer so fun, fulfilling and memorable. We love being able to support what you bring to our cultural community.
📷1 & 2: On Aug. 30, over 50 creatives enjoyed knitting, drawing, painting, needlepointing, journaling, Lego-building and more while watching "Fifty 50 Dates" as part of our new Craft Club Cinema series, with partners The Common Thread Yarn Shop & Café and Green Light Cinema. Pack up your crafts and join us Oct. 25 for "Cocoon," the 1985 classic filmed in St. Petersburg! (Link in comments)
📷3 & 4: More than 150 artists, arts supporters, cultural leaders and collectors supported our fundraiser and exhibition opening for "AMPED: Turn Up for the Arts," Sept. 5 at FloridaRAMA Impact Gallery. The show is up until Nov. 1 with artworks available for sale!
📷5: Creative Pinellas, St. Petersburg Alliance, Clearwater Arts Alliance and Visit St. Pete-Clearwater officials met with the nearly 30 Art Everywhere grantees during an orientation and reception on Aug. 4 at Studio@620.
📷6: Creative Pinellas' Maggie Duffy and artist Lucky Leroy at the opening brunch reception for "Hot Hot Heat" on Aug. 22 at Browne Art, a new gallery in St. Petersburg. The exhibition, on view until Nov. 21, features Leroy's work, alongside Judy Chicago, Andy Dixon and John Gurbacs.

📷7: Ashley Wieser, a fine art appraiser and museum professional, curated "Plate to Paper: Women Printmakers," which opened July 16 and is currently on view at the St. Petersburg Museum of History.
📷8: Vanessa Cunto at the August opening reception of her exhibition "Paths Like Past" at ARTicles Gallery & Fine Art Services. Creative Pinellas awarded Cunto, along with five other artists, a 2026 National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) America250 grant to create new works of art commemorating the semiquincentennial.
📷9: Tim Steinmann's "Teapot" and Teacup I & II" were a part of Florida CraftArt's "Future Form" exhibition, which ran June 24 through July 29.
📷10: A mural by Frankie G at the traveling exhibition, "Art of Banksy" at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa; closing Sept. 27. Other local artists whose art was selected to appear with the show include: GALILEO STUDIOS (Chris Giuffré, Eric Leas, Scott Mahaney; VITALE BROS (Johnny Vitale); Azer7; Dreamweaver; Frankie G; Isha; Jared Wright; Miss Crit and Tasko.
