MLK Dream Big Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. birthday is January 15th. Annually, the federal MLK, Jr. holiday is observed on the 3rd Monday of January each year. Parade for 2017.

Advantage Village Academy (AVA) began and hosted St. Petersburg's 1st Inaugural MLK, Jr. Family Fun Day in an effort to revitalize the holiday. Since it was a huge success, the City has asked AVA to host the MLK, Jr. Family Fun Day again and REINVENT the MLK, Jr. With this reinvention comes a new identity, St. Pete’s MLK DREAM BIG CELEBRATION. The Celebration will begin on Saturday, January 14th w

ith a MLK Awards Banquet followed by a Block Party on Sunday, January 15th and ending on Monday, January 16th with the Parade & Family Fun Day. St. Pete has had a MLK Parade for 31 years. Pete’s 32nd Annual Parade, MLK Dream Big Parade, will take on a NEW route. The Parade will begin at 11 A.M. travelling along 1st Avenue South from 2nd Street South and end across the street from Tropicana Field on 16th Street South. After the Parade in Tropicana Field Lots 6 & 7, the Family Fun Day will begin at 2:30 P.M to close out the Celebration, ending at 8 P.M.

For those who were unable to obtain the free battle of bands tickets that were being offered.... you can still attend the event tomorrow however the fee for entrance is $5.00 at the door and parking is $5.00.... if you interested in the VIP tickets they can be purchased now at 833 22nd St. S....purchase price is $50.00...(meet & greet with bands and administrators full access to fields) 🧘🏾‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🥰
