Connecting students with the innovators shaping our region 🚎✨

We welcomed 15 undergraduate students from USF St. Petersburg and MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program for a trolley tour through the district, giving them an inside look at the people, places, and partnerships driving innovation in our region.

From visits to the Maritime and Defense Technology Hub, Spark Labs by ARK Invest, and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) facility to conversations about the rapidly growing space economy with Seagate Space and Lonestar Data Holdings, students explored emerging technologies, research opportunities, and exciting career pathways shaping the future 🚀

MASTER PLAN UPDATE
The Master Plan has officially been published, marking an exciting transition from planning to implementation. As we enter this next phase, we're pleased to introduce a key addition to the team: Gia Ferrulo, who has joined the Innovation District as an implementation consultant specializing in outreach and project management for mobility efforts.

The Master Plan implementation team now includes Alison Barlow, Nisuka Williams, Jack Feldman, and Gia Ferrulo. Successful implementation depends on strong partnerships, and this team will work closely with stakeholders across the district—from neighborhood associations and community organizations to the City of St. Petersburg and local developers. Together, they will bring people together to help steer the future of the Innovation District.
