Our next speaker for PALM is… 🥁 Rae Thompson 🌴 — a clinical psychology doctoral student, psychic medium, and future active-duty Air Force clinical psychologist.

Now entering the third year of her Psy.D. program, Rae is preparing to support active-duty service members and veterans after graduation. Before beginning her journey in academia and clinical work, she worked full-time as a psychic medium—a practice she continues today. ✨

For CreativeMornings, Rae will explore what the word PALM means to her. Drawing from her experience reading palms, she’ll reflect on the hope people place in the lines of their hands—and the messages we receive about who we’re meant to be and the roles we must play to prove our worth. ✋

August’s global theme is NAKHLAH. 🌴 In Arabic, it means “palm.” It was chosen by our Khobar chapter in Saudi Arabia and illustrated by Rahaf Al-Badri . Grow stronger with this month’s hashtag:

Our Khobar chapter had this to say about the significance of this month’s theme:

“This theme is a tribute to resilience, generosity, and rooted creativity — symbolized by one of the most iconic trees in Arab culture. The palm thrives in tough conditions — just like creativity under pressure. The date palm is deeply woven into Saudi identity, found on the national emblem and in everyday life — from food to folklore.”

Stay tuned how we’re going to interpret the theme!

What can a professional dancer like Helen Hansen French teach us about competition? Quite a lot, actually.

Meet our next speaker, Helen French (Helen Hansen French ✨ From training as a professional dancer at Juilliard to serving as Executive Director of the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, Helen has spent her career navigating the balance between ambition, creativity and collaboration. Along the way, she’s helped shape Tampa Bay’s arts community and co-founded BEACON at The Palladium, creating opportunities for artists to connect and thrive.

At this month’s event, Helen will explore our global theme, COMPETITION. Drawing from her own experiences in dance, leadership and the arts, she’ll share why competition isn’t always about outperforming others—and how our greatest challenge is often learning to compete with ourselves in healthy, meaningful ways.

Whether you’re an artist, entrepreneur, student or simply curious, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.
