Now in its second year, the Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association's Youth Jazz Jam is open to elementary through high school students across all counties, pairing young players with mentors Phil Magallanes and Dwayne White Music, Director of Jazz Education, for two hours of real, hands-on music making. Doors open at 1 PM and the music runs until 3 PM every last Saturday of the month at Pinellas Community Church.

Piano, bass, and drums (rhythm instruments) are available on site, and students are welcome to bring their own.

*Students should come with foundational knowledge of their instrument — this is a working session, not an introduction.

If you’re a musician under the age of 25 and you’ve got something to play, Monday Nights at The Hangar St. Pete are calling your name! The Monday Night Jazz Jam is from 7-9pm. We welcome you to sit in with our house band and fellow musicians for real stage time for a real jazz loving audience. Come ready to play or sing 🎶

Five guitarists, one stage, and an afternoon that moves through Jazz, Blues, Rock, Latin and Funk.

The Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association presents Guitars Galore, featuring José Velandia, Bart Hanchey, Carl Amundson, Charlie Robinson, and Vincent Sims, backed by our rhythm section, Kenny Walker, Stretch Bruyn, and Ron Gregg. Each guitarist takes the stage on their own before all five come together for the Guitars Galore Grand Finale.
