Recently, OSE representatives met with the Operations Manager and his team to review several items important to the safety, beauty, and everyday use of our neighborhood’s beloved Lassing Park. They recognized and thank the Parks's Department for the excellent work they continue to do in keeping our park looking its best!

Park Items Discussed:
🌿 Sidewalk Signage — A new sign will be installed by the sidewalk across from 20th Ave reminding visitors: “Please do not block the sidewalk.”

🌿 Pollinator Garden — The city will clear the south‑end pollinator garden, and neighborhood volunteers will maintain it moving forward.

🌿 No‑Mow Area — A designated no‑mow zone will be created where the ground remains consistently wet and cannot be safely mowed.

🌿 Tree Replacement — As funds become available, the city will plant multiple trees to replace some of the 63 lost during Milton and Helene.

🌿 Open Play Space — The open area for frisbee, football, and other activities will remain.

🌿 Memorial Tree Program — The city offers a memorial tree planting program for those wishing to honor a loved one. More information is available at the Parks & Recreation website: https://www.stpeteparksrec.org/parks___facilities/index.php

We’re excited to continue partnering with the City of St. Petersburg, Florida and St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation to care for and enhance this wonderful neighborhood asset.

Thank you Robbie Gammack, Joanne Manwaring and .pete for your time and dedication!

We know you are aware that the Old Southeast is proud to be a designated Artist Enclave Overlay District, but have you looked up at our current showcase featuring 23 incredible artists?

The special designation allows our talented neighbors to use their residences as work studios, lofts, galleries, and instructional spaces, bringing a vibrant creative energy to our streets! To celebrate and support our local creators, we've created a dedicated Artist Directory on the OSNA website
👉 www.oldsoutheaststpete.org/artist-directory.

Whether you're looking to commission a piece, take a class, or just get to know the makers in our community, it's your go-to hub.
