In honor of JLSP’s 95th Anniversary, we’re celebrating our legacy of literacy with a special book drive benefiting Library Puppets, our longest-running community program, which is celebrating 85 years! ??

Our goal is to purchase 1,750 copies of The Very Hungry Caterpillar to place directly into the hands of local children who attend Library Puppets performances.

Help us reach 95 books by the end of month - the books are on sale on Amazon right now, making this the perfect time to help us reach our goal! Purchase a book (or a few!) and help carry 95 years of JLSP impact into the next generation.

Follow the link below to keep kiddos' appetite for reading strong! 🐛📚🦋

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the incredible 168 individual donors who participated in our fundraising campaign and helped us Find the Good in our city! 💙

Last week, friends, families, local businesses, and the people of St. Pete rallied around JLSP as we celebrated International Find the Good Day. Thanks to your generosity and the incredible efforts of our JLSP members, we didn’t just meet our $7,500 goal, we exceeded it!!! Together, we raised more than $10,500 to support children and families across Pinellas County! 🎉

It was such a joy to share more about the good JLSP is doing in our community and to see just how much impact we can make when our members and community come together.

Thank you to our campaign Champions who shared their stories, our members who spread the word, and every single person who took a few seconds out of their day to invest in St. Pete’s future.

We did it! 💙☀️

Proof that finding the good can also lead to a lot of fun! Last week the annual Sustainer and Provisional Social reminded us what an anchor JLSP is in our lives! It was wonderful getting to know so many incredible women who volunteer their time to support our mission.

Thank you to our wonderful JLSP Sustainers for hosting the 2026 Provisional Class!

And what better day to celebrate than Find the Good Day itself! If you would like to support JLSP's efforts to sprinkle some GOOD throughout our city, consider donating to our Find the Good Campaign.

Happy International Find the Good Day! Nothing says celebration like everyone around the table preparing meals, so today we are paying homage to our Kids in the Kitchen Program and our volunteer work with the Ronald McDonald House.

The Kids in the Kitchen program brings hands-on cooking demonstrations to children at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast. The program also provides participants with healthy snack packs filled with delicious, ready-to-eat options. Last year alone, Kids in the Kitchen distributed more than 3,800 snack packs to local children in need! 🥕

By preparing simple recipes, exploring nutritious ingredients, and practicing kitchen safety, children gain the knowledge and confidence to make healthier choices at home.

JLSP is also honored to be part of the Ronald McDonald House’s continued support of families with children receiving healthcare at nearby hospitals. Over the years, our volunteers have cooked and provided meals, participated in food drives, and helped raise funds so these families can focus on what really matters most—their loved ones.

Find the Good Day reminds us that small acts can create a lasting impact. 💙

It's day 3 of Finding the Good in our league and community. Today, we’re celebrating countless books in the hands of children—and a very special, theatrical part of our legacy: library puppets! 📚🎭

Join us at the President Barack Obama Main Library on select Mondays as JLSP performs the Very Hungry Caterpillar Puppet Show, open to Toddlers through 2nd Grade. Groups of 10 or more must register by calling 727-892-5296 or emailing [email protected].

‼️This year marks JLSP's 95th Anniversary. All donations collected for our 95th celebration go toward purchasing a copy of The Very Hungry Caterpillar for every child who attends the puppet show.

Can't make it to a show? Your donation still puts a book in a child's hands.

Every book counts.

Join us in finding the good with Library Puppets & Literacy 📚❤️

On Day 2 of International Find the Good Day, we are spotlighting JLSP’s commitment to students and back-to-school readiness.

Since 1997, JLSP has provided over 31K backpacks filled with 450,000 school supplies to local K-12 students through the annual Care Fair. This event also features an Agency Resource Fair, connecting families with community partners like Evara Health, the Pinellas County Housing Authority, the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County, PSTA, and the St. Petersburg Library System.

Care Fair has become the ultimate back-to-school bash and an event many families rely on. Please consider donating to our Find the Good campaign so we can keep this tradition going for years to come! 🎒✏️❤️
