See you tonight!

We’d like to invite you to our upcoming concert of the bands of St. Petersburg College, this Thursday, April 14 at the Palladium (253 5th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701). Concert time starts at 7:30 p.m. and admission and parking are free.

The Community Wind Symphony will share The Courtly Dances from Gloriana of Benjamin Britten. This set of short movements from Britten’s opera, beautifully combines Renaissance feel with some incorporation of modern techniques. In addition, the Community Wind Symphony will present Grainger’s masterwork Lincolnshire Posy and Vaughan Williams Rhosymedre.

In celebration of the upcoming 2016 Olympics in Rio, The Community Concert Band will perform John William’s famous setting of the Olympic Fanfare and Theme. This will be followed by Frank Ticheli’s wonderful arrangement of Shenandoah. To round out the concert, we will share Fisher Tull’s intricate, rhythmic, and glorious Introit, followed by another John Williams uplifting feature, the Midway March.
We would love to share this music with you.

Please pass along the word of this opportunity to your friends, and we hope to see you in the near future.
