St. Pete Housing Summit

St. Pete Housing Summit Mayoral candidates will answer essential questions about zoning as a way to alleviate the shortage of housing working families can afford.

10/10/2021

If you want more workforce housing in St. Pete, write City Council members today. On Thursday, their Housing Committee is voting on where to allow denser housing, like duplexes, triplexes, and four-unit homes. Tell them to apply the new zone NTM-1 within a half-mile of "major transit corridors."

We have a critical shortage of housing that working people can afford. The more housing we have, the less expensive it will be. While there are many ways to get more housing, this is the most expedient. The County Commission approves of it and it costs taxpayers nothing. It's ready to go!

City planners want to apply the NTM-1 zone only on properties that actually touch major transit corridors, like Central Avenue and 4th Street. That will make no difference at all!

Tell Council what you want - we know they respond to letters. And cross your fingers Council does the right thing Thursday!
