BIG NEWS: The Florida state budget includes a $300,000 allocation designated to help restore and maintain the historic, African American Lincoln Cemetery in Gulfport. The funding is intended to address chronic neglect by fixing flooding and drainage issues, restoring cemetery roads, and cleaning fence lines.
The much-needed grant was secured by local leaders in the state's $114.5 billion budget and is awaiting action from Governor Ron DeSantis. The money will be managed by Cross and Anvil Human Services.
