THF WIN WIN🩵
Since receiving a Hambrick Foundation grant in 2023, special education teacher Cassie Little has continued to grow Foster Love—an initiative dedicated to ensuring children in foster care never have to carry their belongings in trash bags.

Through this project, Cassie’s special needs students create duffle bags for foster children, giving them the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. Not only are foster children receiving dignity and care, but these students also experience the joy and pride that comes from helping their peers. Helping People Is Cool!🩵

We’re proud to support a project that uplifts both foster children and students with special needs.

Four-Time Grant Recipient Spotlight: Beyond the Spectrum🩵
We are honored to continue supporting Beyond the Spectrum and the incredible work they do for children with special needs. Through our partnership over the last two years, grant funding has helped provide technology, music therapy tools, sensory equipment, flexible learning spaces, and interactive resources that create a more inclusive and empowering environment for every child they serve.
From iPads and classroom tools to sensory stations and musical instruments, these resources are helping children learn, grow, communicate, and thrive every single day. 🎶✨📚
Thank you, Beyond the Spectrum, for your unwavering dedication, compassion, and impact in our community. We are proud to stand beside you in making a difference for so many amazing kids and families. 🩵

IMPACT IN ACTION 🩵

We were honored to award Courtney Pellegrino, School Social Worker at King Elementary, a grant to support social and emotional learning resources for her students.

“This grant truly changed my school year and made it so much easier to provide kiddos with social and emotional support, I can not thank you enough!
I am a school social worker who moved from a middle school to an elementary school with high needs and little resources. This grant presented itself at the perfect time. With this grant I was able to get social and emotional wellness curriculum making me able to individualize the students’ needs. I was also able to get sensory items (fidgets, seating, lights), along with items for fun breaks for students to work hard for along with so much more.
This grant genuinely changed my ability as a provider to have a positive impact on not just general education students but also students who recieve Special Education support.”

Bailey Robinson, School Social Worker at Sunrise Elementary School, used her Foundation grant to purchase sensory supports, flexible seating, and behavioral safety resources to better serve students with diverse needs.

“Our school has a large population of students with disabilities. It is important for our school’s mental health team to have strategies and tools to ensure all individual students’ needs are being met. This additional funding supports both our staff and students as they continue to grow socially and emotionally.”

We are proud to support educators like Bailey who are creating safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces where every child can thrive.🩵📚

While we were out west visiting some THF grant recipients, we found ourselves sharing the story of why THF was started—and thought it’d be fun to share it with you too. 🩵

Bobby Hambrick talks about the heart behind the Hambrick Foundation, shaped by his journey as a father and inspired by an incredible educator, Bethany Scroggs.

In this moment with special educators Kenny Long and Kim Sullivan, you’ll hear why supporting students and teachers means so much to us.

🎓 A Historic Moment for The Hambrick Foundation!

We are overjoyed to announce our very FIRST scholarship recipient ever: Julieanna Acevedo Carrasquillo from Eckerd College!

At The Hambrick Foundation, supporting the special needs community is at the heart of everything we do. This scholarship is one of the many ways we give back, and we couldn't be more proud to launch it with such an exceptional student.

Julieanna, a Human Development and Psychology double major from Puerto Rico, is already dedicating herself to serving individuals with disabilities. She volunteers in the Speech and Language Department at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, helps out with a social skills program for children with communication challenges, teaches dance to children on the autism spectrum, and is conducting research on inclusion for people with hearing and speech disorders.

Her dream is to become a speech-language pathologist, helping individuals find their voice and ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and compassion.

Julieanna represents exactly the kind of future advocate we want to invest in. We can't wait to see the impact she'll make!

Congratulations, Julieanna, on being our first-ever scholarship recipient!
