“Old post but still VERY relevant....
It came to my attention recently, when I sent my new ebook to a family member (a white one), that it may not be common knowledge that decolonization is for everyone.
Even white folks.
Especially white folks.
Because supremacy culture didn’t just oppress, it disconnected us. Disconnected us from the land, our bodies, the truth...each other.
It taught white folks to trade connection for control.
To confuse dominance with safety.
To abandon their humanity for proximity to power.
To abandone who you were before empire told you, me, all of us, who to be.
Decolonizing invites you to unlearn.
Not to center yourself, but to come back to yourself.
The self beneath what supremacy imposed on all of us.
The self capable of accountability, repair, & connection.
💬 What’s one thing supremacy taught you that you’re working to release? Let me know in the comments below.
Share this with someone who needs to hear that decolonizing is indeed for all of us.
