On World Homeless Day, we're so proud to announce that over the past year Vincentian CARES has fed 170,000 people, provided temporary shelter to more than 2,400 and helped nearly 1,600 households find permanent housing.

There's still work to be done, but every one of those numbers is a neighbor who found a meal, a safe place to sleep or a key to a front door of their own. That happened because of the volunteers, donors and partners who show up for our community every day. Thank you. Let's keep going, together.

Vincentian CARES joins the Diocese of Venice in mourning the passing of Bishop Emeritus Frank J. Dewane, who passed away yesterday.

Bishop Dewane was a staunch advocate for people in need. Through Catholic Charities and other partnerships, he helped bring nearly 500 affordable housing units in Sarasota, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Port Charlotte, Immokalee, and Arcadia, many of them for families, low-income seniors, and farmworkers.

We give thanks for Bishop Dewane's life, service, and leadership. We pray for the repose of his soul and for comfort for his family and friends. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.

⚡⚡⚡ We're proud to be one of 12 local nonprofits receiving a $25,000 grant through Strikes of Kindness, a joint initiative of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Benchmark International! And how cool is it to see our CEO Michael Raposa behind the scenes with a Vincent Cares jersey!

Thank you to the Lightning and Benchmark International for investing in our community and in the people we serve. 💙

Each of the 12 organizations receives $25,000 as part of the joint “Strikes of Kindness” initiative.

We're proud to announce that St. Vincent de Paul CARES has officially changed its corporate name to Vincentian CARES!

The new name brings our organization together under one brand with our subsidiaries: Vincentian Properties, Vincentian Housing Corporation, Vincentian Legal Services, and the Vincentian CARES Foundation.

Our mission remains to transform lives through love and service, and our commitment to ending homelessness is unwavering. Our team, leadership, locations, and the programs that individuals, families, and U.S. Veterans rely on are all unchanged.

The new name also reflects how much we've grown. For more than 40 years, we have served people experiencing poverty in Pinellas County and beyond. Today, our services reach 22 counties across Florida and 24 municipalities in Puerto Rico, and in the past five years alone, we have helped more than 7,000 households move into stable housing!

None of this would have been possible without the generous support from our friends, followers and fans out there. Thanks, everyone!

Over the past year, our mid-Fla team worked closely with the Citrus Co. Food Bank and the UF/IFAS Citrus County Extension to provide healthy food and nutritional education to 250 Citrus County households! This great project would not have been possible without a $16,000 grant award from the Citrus County Community Charitable Foundation.

Together with great community partners like these, we're ending homelessness.
