⚽ St. Pete Is Going Full World Cup Mode

Team USA watch parties are taking over downtown St. Pete, and this is not the quiet corner TV setup where half the bar forgot the game was even on. After the Al Lang Stadium opener, the next two stops are bringing the crowds straight into the heart of downtown with Jannus Live hosting USA vs. Australia on Friday June 19th at 3PM, then Ferg’s Pavilion taking over for USA vs. Turkey on Thursday June 25th at 10PM 🇺🇸⚽

Jannus Live already knows how to pack a courtyard, and Ferg’s has been a downtown pregame institution for decades! Add Team USA, big screens, cold drinks, flags, chants, and a city that loves having an excuse to show up loud, and these next two matches could turn into two of the biggest watch party moments St. Pete sees all summer🤘

Which St. Pete spot is going to bring the loudest Team USA crowd, Jannus Live or Ferg’s Pavilion!? 👀🇺🇸

🏁A Clearwater Staple Is Taking Its Final Lap

After 23 years on 49th Street North, Quaker Steak & L**e is closing its Clearwater location on July 5th! This was not just a wings spot. It was bike nights, car cruise ins, patio beers, football games, loud engines, kids staring at the cars, and that very Clearwater kind of chaos you either loved or somehow ended up at anyway 🍗🏍️

Pinellas keeps changing fast, and every time another familiar place disappears, people start asking what we are actually losing besides a restaurant sign. Maybe you had your regular table. Maybe you only knew it as that place on 49th with all the motorcycles out front. Maybe you had not been in years, but still felt weird seeing the closing news. Either way, 23 years is a long time to be part of the local memory!

Was Quaker Steak & L**e a Clearwater classic worth saving? Or is this just another sign that old Pinellas is getting harder and harder to recognize? 👀

✨Enchant Christmas Is Coming Back To The Trop✨

After years away from St. Pete, Enchant Christmas is officially heading back to Tropicana Field in 2026! This return is going to hit a little different for anyone who remembers walking through those lights 🎄✨

It was one of those holiday events people actually planned around, whether you went with family, brought the kids, made it a date night, or just wanted to see the Trop turned into something completely magical. This one is personal for us too because Enchant is where I proposed to Soudabah, so seeing it return to the same place brings back a memory we will always cherish!

🏗️ Do You Want A Data Center On Gandy Boulevard!? 💻

Gandy Boulevard has always been one of those roads that feels like a pressure point for Pinellas. Traffic, development, neighborhoods, commuters, businesses, and people just trying to get across town without losing their mind. Now a proposed data center near Gandy has residents asking a much louder question: at what point does Gandy stop being a road and start feeling like a dumping ground for every project nobody wants in their backyard?

For the people who live near this stretch, the concern is not hard to understand. Will this bring more traffic to an already stressed corridor? More noise near homes? More water consumption in a region that already has to think seriously about resources? More strain on power and infrastructure? And what about the long term impact on human health when residents are living near constant industrial noise, backup systems, heat output, and a massive operation that most people never actually see? Data centers may sound quiet from the outside, but residents are worried about what this could mean once the doors are closed and the impact is theirs to live with every single day.

Would you want this next to your neighborhood? Or do data centers simply not belong in Pinellas? 👀

Clearwater Street Fight Over Scientology🥊

Downtown Clearwater has been trying to bring life back for years, but now one short stretch of South Garden Avenue has turned into one of the city’s most emotional fights. On June 4th, Clearwater City Council voted 3 to 2 to move forward with a request tied to the Church of Scientology that could vacate part of the public street near its downtown properties. The final vote is expected June 18th, and people are already choosing sides.

Supporters say the plan could bring walkability, green space, and new energy to a downtown that has needed movement for a long time. Critics see something much bigger than traffic flow. Garden Avenue has ties to Clearwater’s Black business history, and opponents argue public streets should not be handed over without residents having a stronger say. In a city where Scientology already owns a major downtown footprint, this vote feels deeply personal for a lot of people who remember what downtown used to be and still care about who gets to shape what it becomes.

Should Clearwater give up a public street for downtown redevelopment? Or should Garden Avenue stay public no matter who is asking? 👀

🍸Gulfport Just Changed The Nightlife Game💁‍♀️

Beach Boulevard has always had its own little rhythm. Coffee in the morning, cocktails at night, people wandering in from the waterfront, locals posted up like they have known the block forever. Now Gulfport is adding something different to the mix with a new sober bar built around zero proof cocktails, coffee, and nightlife energy without the hangover.

The timing makes sense, alcohol sales have been slipping while zero proof drinks keep gaining real ground. Alcohol free beverages are turning into a billion dollar movement instead of some tiny side menu afterthought. Florida has never exactly been shy about drinking culture, from beach bars to Gasparilla to late nights across St. Pete. But more people are asking for places where you can still go out, still be social, still have a real drink in your hand, and not feel like alcohol has to be the whole personality of the night.

Would you actually go to a sober bar? Or does a night out still need alcohol to feel like a night out? 👀

🎤 Should Raymond James have said no?🤔

Tampa is split after Ye, formerly Kanye West, was booked for two shows at Raymond James Stadium, and this is turning into way more than a concert debate.

Raymond James is publicly owned, tied to Tampa taxpayers, Bucs Sundays, Super Bowls, and some of Florida’s biggest entertainment moments. So when an artist surrounded by antisemitic remarks, public backlash, and years of controversy gets booked there, people are asking where the line is!? Some say let fans buy the tickets and move on. Others say a taxpayer connected stadium should not hand a massive stage to someone with that much baggage.

Tells us your take, is this just business? Or did Tampa cross the line booking Ye at Ray Jay?👇
