Durand Capers is the Founder and Lead Instructor of Tactical Education & Defense, LLC, a Tampa Bay based training company focused on Fi****ms, Medical, Safety, and Security education. Durand will provide practical training with an emphasis on

His approach is simple: educate people, build practical skills, and prepare difference makers.

Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hero Jo’van McNeill provides youth with opportunities to build confidence, develop new skills, and gain an appreciation for the environment through activities including hunting, fishing, and camping through the nonprofit CLOUD NINE OUTDOORS.

 Since 2015, the nonprofit has served over 200 students and parents annually through six different programs and hands-on learning fostering resilience and personal growth.

 He has provided urban prepping workshops during the 2025 Urban Futures Festival and at Artz 4 Life Academy – and we’re thrilled he will join us on Nov. 7!

St. Pete, the countdown is officially on! Community Tech Day and the Urban Futures Comicon are coming up fast and we are bringing the energy straight to the Childs Park Rec Center at 43rd Street and 13th Ave South.
Get ready for a day completely packed with fun, hands on education, and pure entertainment. We are talking virtual reality, drone programming, digital beat making, plus free comic books, zine workshops, and some of the best cosplay artists in the city. It is going to be a whole bunch of vibes for the entire family.

Last year’s Tampa Bay Urban Futures Festival set a massive standard for our city. We brought the community together with a coding panel discussion, sound healing, independent film screenings, a glow in the dark fashion show, and the unforgettable Tech Day and Comicon.

Meet Lorielle J. Hollaway, a 2026 MUSE Awards Honoree!

A St. Petersburg native, Lorielle J. Hollaway is a community-based researcher and cultural programmer dedicated to bringing people together through literacy, storytelling, and the literary arts. As the founder of Cultured Books Literacy Foundation and creator of St. Pete Reads! Lit Fest, she has created meaningful opportunities for children and families to connect with books, artists, authors, and their community.

We’re proud to celebrate Lorielle, literary arts, and the impact of her work in our community at this year’s MUSE Awards!
