We lost a warrior and a wonderful friend on February 23rd. James "Butch" Whitworth was a Vietnam Veteran and longtime, active member of VVA Chapter 458. He had a great heart for our POW's and worked hard on the yearly ceremonies honoring them. Our Chaplain, Bob Blake, honorably eulogized him; he was escorted to his resting place by the Patriot Guard; Taps was played; rifles saluted; the flag was folded and presented to his widow, Paula; and he will remain in our hearts always.

At the November meeting Len discussed with the chapter KMOV's, channel 4, donation project for November which will benefit the Jefferson Barracks Food pantry. Len suggested Chapter 458 match the total amount collected at month's end and chapter members agreed. This will be a great way of getting some good will publicity while helping Veterans families.
