For 10 years the Loneriders have been sponsoring a Charity Raffle Run to raise money for St. In 2010, Tyler TeBrink, a son of one of our members, unknowingly contracted STREP in his nasal cavity. As his doctors were treating him, his symptoms continued to grow worse putting his life at risk. Eventually he was hospitalized and with a team of doctors working around the clock he was finally diagnosed

with Rheumatic Fever (RF). RF can cause permanent damage to the heart, including damaged heart valves and ultimately, heart failure. Tyler fell victim to RF and as a direct result required open-heart surgery to replace a damaged Aortic heart valve, at the age of 17. (For more information on RF: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/understanding-rheumatic-fever-basics)

As members of our riding group, we felt impelled to help Todd & Kathy TeBrink with the mounting medical costs from the months of hospitalization required to treat Tyler pre and post surgery. As a result, in June 2011, we organized a Poker Run and raised $1500 to benefit their family. Rather than accept the money, Todd & Kathy asked that we donate the money raised to the two charities who played key roles in Tyler's diagnosis and treatment (surgery). In fulfilling their request we donated $750 each to the Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House of St Louis. Over the past 8 years we have raised and donated over $65,000 between our two charities. This year we will be hosting our 9th Annual event on 29 June '19 with several BIG changes. This year will be our third year as a RAFFLE Run instead of a Poker Run and our 3rd year hosting at Shamrocks Pub & Grill in St Peters. Lots of exciting things are planned this year so like this page and event page to add us to your calendar. As always this is an OPEN event and we welcome all bikes, trikes, cars, trucks and people. Come out and support us as we raise money for two great charities!

Our Story

Welcome to the home of the 9th Annual LoneRiders Raffle Run for Charity. In 2010, Tyler TeBrink, a son of one of our members, unknowingly contracted STREP in his nasal cavity. As his doctors were treating him, his symptoms continued to grow worse putting his life at risk. Eventually he was hospitalized and with a team of doctors working around the clock he was finally diagnosed with Rheumatic Fever (RF). RF can cause permanent damage to the heart, including damaged heart valves and ultimately, heart failure. Tyler fell victim to RF and as a direct result required open-heart surgery to replace a damaged Aortic heart valve, at the age of 17. (For more information on RF: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/understanding-rheumatic-fever-basics) As members of our riding group, we felt impelled to help Todd & Kathy TeBrink with the mounting medical costs from the months of hospitalization required to treat Tyler pre and post surgery. As a result, in June 2011, we organized a Poker Run and raised $1,500 to benefit their family. Rather than accept the money, Todd & Kathy asked that we donate the money raised to the two charities who played key roles in Tyler's diagnosis and treatment (surgery). So, we wrote two checks and donated $750 each to the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and The Ronald McDonald House Charities of St Louis; thus began a journey which has brought us all closer together. Although, way back then we really had no idea how much work is involved in putting on an annual event like this. We have truly been blessed and we can proudly state that over the past 9 years we have raised and donated over $80,000 between our two amazing charities. This year we will be hosting our 9th Annual event on 29 June 2019, with a goal to raise $25,000. Since our first attempt at a Raffle Run was so successful (over $15,000 raised), this will become the format for our event moving forward. We are once again teaming up with Kyle Dent and the team at Shamrock’s Pub & Grill in St Peters, so make sure you stop by and support them and our other 2019 Sponsors (Parrots Bar & Grill; Good News Brewing Defiance; Maverick’s Marthasville; HotShots Wentzville; and Fireside Bar & Grill). A lot of exciting things are planned this year so like this page, share it, and add our events to your calendar.
