Roboteer Outreach, Going Global!
The 4329 Lutheran Roboteers worked with Operation Christmas Child for the 3rd year in a row! We received more than 1200 donations allowing us to fill 135 boxes! The Roboteers organized and packed all of these boxes, hoping to spread Christmas joy throughout the world.

Roboteers outreach for the community! Each year the local Easterseals organization hosts a Holiday Auction. Call in the Roboteers with tools and instruction books, and you have a productive evening helping a great organization! Bring in some pizza and it's pretty much a perfect night. Doll houses, kitchen sets, scooters, tether-ball, you name it... we can build it!

It's LEGO Robot Time! Last Saturday the Lutheran Roboteers hosted 22 FIRST LEGO League teams from across the region at Lutheran High School - St. Charles. It was a terrific event with over 400 people having fun throughout the day. A huge thanks to the 40+ volunteers that helped us all weekend long. Congratulations to the winning teams!

So when it's raining candy from the sky, and the Lutheran Roboteers are nearby, it must be Reggie our Spirit-Bot! This time of year Reggie dresses up in his best pair of bat wings, we re-purpose him to shoot candy rather than t-shirts or golf balls and we hit the Trunk-or-Treat circuit. This year we had a busy Saturday where we visited THREE different area Lutheran churches in one day! You be the judge, but all of the kids seemed to have a great time!

The Roboteers need your help!

Imagine if you would, for just a minute, if your school's baseball team ONLY had a batting cage and a small space for pitchers to practice. The first time the team actually got to play the game is at the first weekend tournament that we sign up for. Sounds pretty bad.

Another scenario would be if the theatre program could only practice in the music classroom until the first show-night when they are finally able to perform on the real stage. Seems like it would probably impact their ability to perform well.

While this seems pretty far-fetched for those programs, believe it or not, that's the exact challenge that the Roboteers (STEM2U Youth & Lutheran High School of St. Charles FIRST Robotics team) face every season. We simply do not have a place to practice.

You may ask the question, "Would practice really help our robot performance?"
The simple answer is, YES.

We've researched our scoring for the last three years and our average scoring has doubled between the beginning of each season and the end. A large portion of that is the ability to actually drive the robot, learn how to decrease cycle times, and improve the software and hardware. In other words, we have to USE the robot to get better. Our drive team needs to "take the field" just like the baseball team and the theatre students in order to practice.

Simply, the ask is for space. Here's our ideal situation:
- HVAC controlled space
- 80' x 50' usable space without support posts (pillars) minimum
If we were to get a ½ field space, then 40'x50' minimum
- Concrete floor is ideal
- Ceiling height of at least 15' (we could probably get by with ~13' if necessary)
- Location as close to LHS (St. Peters, MO) as possible
- It would also be nice to have a bathroom facility if possible, but not mandatory.

While you personally may not have warehouse space like this sitting around, do you perhaps know someone who does? Since we're sponsored by a 501c3 charity, there could be a tax advantage from donating this space for the activities that STEM2U Youth sponsors.

It's amazing to see how well our Roboteers respond and learn when they are able to see the robot they built actually performing. We can do them a huge favor by letting that happen BEFORE they take the field at their first competition of the season.

Feel free to reach out to Mike Sides at [email protected] if you might have some space options or would like to support the team.

Roboteers take to the Golf Courses!

Team 4329, The Lutheran Roboteers, took to the links for our latest outreach events! Instead of launching t-shirts and candy, our outreach robot, Reggie, launched dozens of golf balls at two separate charity events. And boy did he put on a show! Reggie's consistent 300-350 yard drives gave many foursomes a great shot at a birdie or an eagle! Overall he helped raise over $2000 for Lutheran High School of St. Charles and Brace for Impact 46. Check out these pictures and videos of Reggie in action.

This past weekend may have been our team's 14th St. Louis Regional, but it was definitely one to remember! We just qualified for the 2025 FIRST Robotics World Championship event in Houston, Texas for our 4th year in a row!!

Once again, our team has been most fortunate to be awarded the Regional Engineering Inspiration Award for our work in inspiring engineers within our community and beyond! We're feeling blessed and excited for the opportunity for growth and adventure! Our marketing crew, pit crew, programmers, drive team, presenters, and scouting crew certainly put in the work to make this event a success and a great start for our REEFSCAPE Competition season.
Huge thank you to Team 5060 IgKnight and Team 8069 Super Hornets for inviting us to join your Alliance!

In a little under two weeks, we'll be attending the Miami Valley Regional event in Cincinnati, Ohio for the first time. And now, we're just about a month away from traveling to Houston!
There's much to be done and much to plan, but we couldn't feel more grateful at this moment!

Additional shout outs! Congrats to our local Missouri teams from Westminster Christian Academy, Team4256 - Cyborg Cats for their Impact Award win, and our Wentzville counterparts, the Ratchet Rockers Robotics Team 1706, for their Regional Event win! Congratulations friends!! We can't wait to visit your pits in Houston!

What a busy month!
After the Gateway Robotics Competition, the Lutheran Roboteers were blessed with the opportunity to attend FIVE Fall Festivals/Trunk-or-Treats throughout the month of October. We were able to reach over 850 people!

We loved showing Reggie off in his bat costume to so many during the Trunk-or-Treats hosted by St. Charles County Police Department (SCCPD), Child of God Lutheran, Immanuel Lutheran Church-St. Charles, Missouri, and Holy Cross Lutheran Church! We even had the chance to bring out Percy again during the WB Industries Fall Fest!
We had such a blast attending these events. Thank you to the Roboteers who helped out and to the schools and sponsors who invited us to join you! We hope to see you guys next year!

Recently, The Lutheran Roboteers had the opportunity to compete in and host the Gateway Robotics Challenge (GRC) off-season competition event. Thank you to 8719 Oakville Dynamics, Stealth Panther Robotics FRC 6424 / FTC 16309, Team4256 - Cyborg Cats, and Ratchet Rockers Robotics Team 1706 for their help with set-up and tear-down. Big shout out to our hosting venue of Oakville High School!!

During Play-offs, we were in an alliance with 6424 Stealth Panthers and 7117 Robotic Dragons which led us to become Finalists at this event!
Thank you to everyone who participated and volunteered to make this event successful!

This past Saturday, we brought Reggie to The Falls Golf Club for Lutheran High's annual Golf tournament!
We were able to share the message of FIRST Robotics while raising money for Lutheran High. For those who purchased our robots' golfing skills, Reggie could put your second shot about 10 yards from the green on par 5!
Thank you to everyone who came and supported our team and school!
