Our Story
CUB SCOUT PACK 58ยทJUNE 7, 2019
Make memories with your child that will last a lifetime! In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. Itโs fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today โ and for life. Fun is at the heart of everything we do โ from exploring
natural habitats, hiking, building bird houses and pinewood derby cars to trying sports like archery, or telling stories around a campfire. Activities
The Cub Scouts program enables youth and their family to be involved in their community and with other Cub Scout packs through various fun scouting activities. Peter 4th of July parade, overnight camps, popcorn sales, the Pinewood Derby car race, field trips, Scouting for Food and other community service projects to encourage growth and education. Some activities offered outside of our Pack include: Scout Day at the Minnesota Zoo, Scout Night with the Mankato Moondogs, shooting camps, and summer camps. Any boy or girl in grades K-5 is eligible to join! The Cub Scout Dens are as follows:
Lion Cub: Kindergarten
Tigers: 1st grade
Wolves: 2nd grade
Bears: 3rd grade
Webelos/AOL: 4th and 5th grade
Boy Scout: 6th grade and above
Meetings
Dens meet two times a month. All of the dens in the pack come together once a month for a pack meeting. Our meetings are held at the First Lutheran Church in St. Peter unless otherwise specified ahead of time by your Den leader. Den leaders change from year to year, and parent involvement is encouraged and recommended. Each month there is plenty to do, with no requirement for attendance at all of the events. Registration
There are yearly Pack dues which pay for recharter fees. This amount can be offset/paid by participating in our popcorn sales fundraising event in the fall. There will be additional costs for campouts, den activities, special events, uniforms, and the Cub Scout Handbook. Pack 58 is committed to serving every youth in this community; no child interested in scouting will be turned away for financial reasons.
