Need support completing your CAAL Ignite application?

CAAL Ignite applicants can now sign up for virtual Grant Writing Technical Assistance Sessions, offered in partnership with AmplifyDMC.

These one-on-one sessions give applicants the opportunity to meet directly with a grant-writing consultant for personalized guidance, feedback, and application support.

Sessions will take place virtually from June 22–24, 2026.

To participate, applicants must have at least 50% of their CAAL Ignite application completed prior to their scheduled session.

Space is limited and appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants have until June 21 to register.

Joy is community work.

For Kelly Condit-Shrestha of the Edina Asian American Alliance, joy has been a powerful way to build belonging, celebrate culture, and support Asian and Asian American youth and families.

What began as a grassroots response to has grown into a community organization creating long-term change through celebration, advocacy, and connection.

With support from CAAL Ignite, EAAA has been able to expand its work from its annual AAPI Month Festival to more events.

CAAL Ignite invests in community-driven ideas that strengthen Minnesota’s Asian American community.

Congratulations to the 2026 Bush Fellows 🎉

Thank you to the Bush Foundation for your continued commitment to investing in a diversity of leaders, ideas, and communities across our region.

We are especially proud to celebrate Alyssa Kaying Vang and Bao Chu Lee, who are both long-time network leaders with CAAL.

Alyssa’s work has helped transform culturally grounded mental health care for immigrant and refugee communities, while Bao’s leadership has strengthened grassroots organizing, mutual aid, survivor support, and community-centered care.

CAAL Ignite has awarded more than $525,000 in grants to support Asian American entrepreneurs, small businesses, nonprofits, and community-rooted ideas across Minnesota.

This year, CAAL Ignite is offering $5,000–$15,000 grants for emerging entrepreneurs, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations driving economic growth, equity, creativity, visibility, and community impact.

Grant opportunities include:

Get ready to apply for CAAL Ignite!

Join us for the CAAL Ignite Grant Readiness Workshop, an in-person session designed to equip Asian American small business owners and nonprofit leaders, especially first-time grant writers, with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to prepare a strong application for the CAAL Ignite Fund.

During the workshop, you’ll learn core grant readiness practices, receive practical tips, and have space to ask questions as you prepare your strongest proposal.

We’ll cover how to prepare for a grant and tell funders about the impact of your work through:

⭐️ Impact narrative: How clear is the connection from your inputs to your impact?

⭐️ Qualitative stories: Do your stories support your data?

⭐️ Power of network: How impactful will your work be for your community and network?
