Proceeds supports our work expanding access to affordable fruits and vegetables in underserved communities. BrightSide Produce is on mission to improve access to affordable fresh fruits and vegetables. We do this by helping corner stores stock high quality, low cost fresh produce, delivering fruits and vegetables to households of all income levels (including our Online Farmers Market, Food as Medi

cine, and Pay What You Can programs), and by operating farmers markets. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in St Paul, MN.

Here it is--our new logo!

We’re excited to finally share this next chapter of BrightSide with you. Over the coming days and weeks, you’ll start to see this new look across everything we do—from our website and social media to a refreshed look for our email newsletters.

While our look is new, our roots are the same. BrightSide began with a simple, optimistic idea—that every person deserves access to affordable fresh produce—and that belief still guides everything we do. Over time, we’ve expanded our work because food access is complex and no single solution is enough. Today, we take multiple approaches to expand access, from corner store partnerships to home delivery programs and community health clinic collaborations, each with their own layers and reach.

This all adds up to one goal: making fresh, affordable produce accessible to more people, in more ways, across our community.

BrightSide started with one great idea: delivering fresh produce to neighborhood corner stores.

Today, our work spans multiple programs, partnerships, and neighborhoods — all working toward one mission-driven goal. We're building a more equitable food system in the Twin Cities.

Food justice is complex. There isn’t one solution. It takes many approaches and strong community partnerships.

Here's how we are tackling food access every week in the Twin Cites 💪🍊

More than a decade ago, BrightSide began with a simple goal:
helping neighborhood corner stores stock affordable fresh produce.

Our co-founders, Deedee Fuller and Adam Pruitt, were just teenagers who wanted healthier options in the stores where their families and neighbors shopped.

Today BrightSide:
• partners with 45 corner stores
• delivers produce directly to homes
• manages farmers markets
• works with community health clinics

Our mission has grown, but the purpose is the same:
making fresh produce more affordable and accessible across the Twin Cities.

And soon, we’ll be unveiling a new logo that reflects where BrightSide is today.

Stay tuned. Find out more on the Bright Ideas Blog: https://brightsidempls.org/blogs/news/growing-with-our-community-a-brightside-update

For the past few weeks, some of our Pay What You Can families have received something extra alongside their produce: thoughtfully raised meat donated each week by Flying Leap Farm.

We’re grateful not just for the donation itself, but for the care behind it. Flying Leap’s mission is to gently educate people about factory-farmed livestock and offer an alternative — humanely raised meat and eggs from local farms. They believe the world would be better if people ate less meat (or none at all), but that if people do choose to eat meat, it should be raised with respect for animals, land, and community.

We love partnering with producers who are thoughtful about how food is grown and raised.

If you want to support their work, they sell direct to consumers and can be found at MidCity Farmers Market on Wednesdays and Richfield Farmers Market on Saturdays during the summer season.

Community care takes many forms. We’re grateful for all of it.

Since November, the amount of fresh produce BrightSide is distributing every single week has increased by over 60%. That’s a powerful reflection of both rising demand and an incredible community stepping up.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has donated, shared, and supported this work. And while this moment has shown what’s possible, we also know the need isn’t going away anytime soon.

One of the easiest ways to help? Tell your friends and neighbors about BrightSide. Whether they donate or subscribe to our Online Farmers Market, every connection helps us keep showing up for families across the Twin Cities.🥕🥬💪

Thank you!! Your generosity in this moment gives us hope and is helping BrightSide meet the needs of so many in our community. We are actively expanding relationships with existing partners and coordinating with additional community groups to get food out to families who need it.

We believe that everyone deserves access to healthy food, no matter their income, zip code, or situation. Because of you, more families have fresh fruits and veggies on their dinner tables tonight. We’re deeply grateful to be doing this work alongside all of you.🧡

Right now, BrightSide is expanding our home deliveries of fresh produce to meet growing need across the Twin Cities.

We are leveraging our existing distribution networks to provide emergency food relief to those who need it most.

And thanks to a generous anonymous donor, every donation this month is matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.

Your gift helps us:
• reach more families through our Pay What You Can network
• provide clinicians with produce bags to delivery during house calls
• extend Food as Medicine enrollments
• increase produce deliveries to Minneapolis Public Housing Authority buildings

Every bag in this photo represents care, dignity, and neighbors showing up for neighbors.

If you’re able, now is the moment. 💚

In Minneapolis and St. Paul, we continue to see powerful displays of human will every day. Neighbors helping neighbors, communities showing up for one another, and donors stepping forward to meet urgent needs with compassion and care.

Dr. King’s calls for justice, dignity and equality feel particularly urgent today.

BrightSide’s Pay What You Can deliveries began in 2020 as no-contact and anonymous by design. Over the last six years, we’ve built real relationships with families who rely on this food—and who trust us to deliver it safely.

Right now, we’re scaling up mutual aid food deliveries for housebound neighbors. Families are reaching out because they know BrightSide is a safe, reliable source of fresh food.

Your donation helps us meet this moment—getting produce to more families, faster, with no barriers and no questions asked.🧡

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year that asked a lot of families and feeling incredibly grateful for this community. 💛

Fresh produce is often the first thing cut when budgets tighten, but together, we showed up for families across the Twin Cities. Here's what we got done in 2025 💪

🍇We added more corner stores to our weekly delivery route, ensuring affordable produce is available in even more neighborhoods.
🥑We hosted our first ever gala, raising funds to be able to add more families to our weekly Pay What You Can delivery program.
🍎We partnered with Delta Dental and added dental patients to our Food as Medicine program.

Thank you for being part of BrightSide. We can’t wait to share what’s ahead in 2026!🍊

✨ Year-end giving is still open if you’d like to support Pay What You Can and help us reach even more families this winter.
