HOLES 4 HEROES ICE FISHING EVENT

After much consideration of the metro lake ice conditions and with the safety of our veterans, volunteers, partners, staff, and participants at the forefront, Fishing For Life decided to cancel the ice tournament and the ceremonies, including the recruit's swearing-in for 2024. With the warm weather, recent rain, and predicted record-high temperatures leading up to the event, we anticipate even greater risky ice conditions. Dear Vessey Chapter Members,

As we approach Veterans Day 2023, we find ourselves filled with gratitude and pride, reflecting on the importance of this special day for our veterans. This year holds particular significance for our chapter as we commemorate the sacrifices and service of our
heroes. The Vessey Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) is committed to honoring those who have served.

Veterans Day is an opportunity to pay homage to the brave men and women who have selflessly defended our nation. Many members of our chapter have personal connections to veterans, whether as veterans themselves or through family members who have served.

Our chapter is named in honor of the late General John W. Vessey, a highly decorated veteran and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. On this day, we remember his legacy and the values he embodied in service to our country.

This day serves as an opportunity for our chapter members to come together, sharing stories, experiences, and a strong sense of camaraderie. It's a reminder that our support network extends far beyond our service years.


Let us come together on Veterans Day 2023, not just to honor our heroes but to reaffirm our commitment to serving those who have served us. By continuing to support our veterans and fostering a sense of unity and pride within our chapter, we can make this Veterans
Day truly special.

Congratulations to the Vessey AUSA Team for their 2nd place finish at the 2023 Army Ten-Miler at Washington, D.C. Emily Byrd led the team with a remarkable time of 1:02:07.

Plainview, MN to become Home to a National Service Park!

Come celebrate on Nov. 4th, 2023 to celebrate this history in the making with members of the U.S. Military, MN National Guard, Peace Corps, and AmeriCorps!

Doors will open at 9 AM and presentations will start at 10 AM. The event will take place in the Plainview High School Gymnasium.

Wrap up the day from Noon-4 PM with booths and displays by each of the national service organizations. Musical entertainment, food for purchase, and drop-in information sessions will also happen during this time!
