Take a look inside Crane Day at Twin Cities Habitat! But wait...what's Crane Day??🤔

Most of the time, our volunteers lift roof trusses and walls themselves, even when that means going up multiple layers of scaffolding. On occasion, we need some extra help, usually when a roof truss is SO LARGE that we can't use volunteer might to drag the trusses across the walls. That's when we bring in the crane and have Crane Day!🏗️

Crane Days are ideal for lifting a bunch of walls or trusses all in one go. And it's incredibly important that our staff, AmeriCorps, and Reg Crews line up the trusses as close to perfect as possible, as that impacts the rest of the house. The work is methodical and involves an extreme attention to detail.🔎

Our volunteer photographer Ceri was at The Heights for Crane Day last week and captured these remarkable images. They show the scale and magnitude of the trusses and walls. The construction against a fall-blue sky was just icing on the cake.💙📷

Our Build Forward Together strategic plan set out to achieve something unprecedented. In 2022, we launched the plan with an ambitious goal of raising $80 million to expand homeownership, advance racial equity, and deepen community engagement.

Four years later, we exceeded that goal together, raising more than $86 million! đź’š

From donors and volunteers to sponsors, partners, and advocates – everyone played a role in achieving this milestone. Thank you for your hard work and generous commitments.

During Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 through October 15), Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity celebrates the Hispanic and Latino homeowners, volunteers, staff, supporters, partners, and neighbors who are an important part of our Habitat community.

Join us in recognizing the many voices that make us stronger together!

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity was honored to take part in the Minnesota Business Partnership (MBP) event last week at US Bank Stadium. The MBP brings together the state's largest employers to showcase their commitment to corporate giving and community involvement. We were proud to share how we're building stronger communities across the metro.

In our booth, we transformed doors into works of art and education. We invited participants to view the colorful artwork, then walk through to reveal the statistics on housing and how housing impacts our communities.

A sincere thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth. We appreciate your time and look forward to staying connected. And we’re grateful to Minnesota Business Partnership for the opportunity to share our story and demonstrate the impact we can make when we work together.
