As 2024 comes to a close, I’m humbled and inspired by the incredible progress we’ve made together and the urgent opportunities still ahead. Your unwavering support has been a lifeline for many, transforming lives and inspiring hope for young Ethiopian women.
Our Year-End Goal: $7,000
Although we didn’t secure the $5,000 Givebutter matching grant, we now have an extraordinary opportunity to double the impact of every dollar you give. With your help, we aim to raise $7,000 by December 31st, ensuring no girl is left behind.
This year, EthioGBFF achieved milestones we once only dreamed of. Starting with just ten young women, we have tripled that number to 30 in under six months. Among these inspiring students are two visually impaired young women who now have access to education and a brighter future—all thanks to your generosity.
A Personal Story of Resilience and Hope
Supporting visually impaired students resonates deeply with me. It reminds me of my childhood when my father suddenly lost his sight. It was a challenging time for our family, but my mother became our pillar of strength.
Despite the immense hardship, she cared for my father, six siblings, and me, navigating every challenge with faith and determination. Her resilience shaped me, teaching me the power of hope and the importance of standing together in adversity.
Those lessons inspire my dedication to helping young women overcome their challenges so they can unlock their potential and thrive.
The Urgent Mission of EthioGBFF
In Ethiopia, young women from low-income families in remote areas face overwhelming barriers—poverty, long distances, and lack of resources—that block their path to education.
Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education by providing:
• Essential school materials to enable learning
• Hygiene products to ensure dignity and confidence
• Transportation costs to ensure safe access to school
