🎉 Exciting news for CIS Twin Cities!

We are thrilled to welcome Justice Alan Page Elementary School in Maplewood as one of our newest school partners for the 2026–2027 school year!

Our new Student Support Coordinator, Lori Kolberg, will be working directly inside the school, helping students with the relationships, resources, and support they need to succeed.

We can't wait to see the impact Lori and our school partners will make together!

The results are in! 💥 A groundbreaking new study by Opportunity Insights, in partnership with EdRedesign Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education, shows that the Communities In Schools (CIS) model of integrated student supports helps high-risk students improve standardized test scores, increase graduation rates, and earn more in adulthood.

This research reinforces the power of integrated student supports—and our relationship-driven approach—to help young people stay in school, succeed academically, and build brighter futures.

Today, Communities In Schools joins communities across the nation in commemorating Juneteenth — a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, perseverance, and progress.

Juneteenth reminds us that opportunity and justice are strengthened when communities come together to support one another. It also serves as a call to continue creating pathways that help young people succeed, regardless of their circumstances.

As we honor this important day in our nation's history, we celebrate the contributions, achievements, and enduring impact of Black Americans while reaffirming our commitment to ensuring every student has the support they need to thrive in school and in life.

This Pride Month, Communities In Schools celebrates the power of belonging.

Every student deserves to feel safe, supported, and empowered to be their authentic self. Throughout the year, CIS works alongside schools, families, and communities to help create environments where young people know they matter and have access to the support they need to reach their full potential.

As we recognize Pride Month, we celebrate the contributions, resilience, and diversity of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities across the country.

In the 2024–2025 school year, 94% of Communities In Schools Twin Cities graduates continued on to some form of postsecondary education, including two- and four-year colleges, technical programs, certifications, and career training.
