This is a late post but Troop 60 wanted to take a moment to remember Dean Schafer, who passed away recently in October.

Dean was a kind, selfless, and caring person who helped many of our Troop 60 scouts earn their Eagle rank.

We are truly blessed and grateful for the opportunity to have worked with you and we thank you for the time and wisdom you have shared with us over the years. You will be missed.

Troop 60 marked the conclusion of 2025 with a Court of Honor ceremony, honoring the achievements of its scouts. The troop expresses gratitude to parents and the Scout Master for their dedication.

On Saturday, Troop 60 scouts had a successful day of selling popcorn at Cub Foods in West St. Paul. More than half of our inventory was sold out in one day of selling. Get your popcorn before it's gone!

Thank you to Troop 60 parents for your help and support. Thank you to all of the people who bought popcorn or donated to make this a successful sale.

We also ran into one of our Eagle Scouts, Tujee Xiong, who just happened to start his shift at work while we were selling. It's always great to run into former Troop 60 scouts who are now all grown up, successful, and doing great things.

Another incredible year unfolded at Many Point Scout Camp! Many thanks to the families and Troop Master for empowering the scouts to have a safe and enjoyable experience filled with transformative learning opportunities. So much joy, growth, and laughter captured in these unforgettable memories.

Thank you to Mai Chong Xiong, Ramsey County Commissioner District 6 for stopping by and visiting Troop 60's scout meeting last week. It was great to learn more about your role as a commissioner, to hear about all of the great things you are doing to help improve our community, and for inspiring our young leaders to be active citizens.

Yesterday, I had the joy of speaking with a group of local Boy Scouts about what Ramsey County does and how local government impacts their daily lives. As a mom of two young kids, these conversations are close to my heart because I know how important it is to raise a generation that’s informed, engaged, and empowered to lead.

Whether it’s parks, libraries, public safety, or health services, our county plays a vital role in shaping the future our young people will inherit. It was an honor to share that with them and plant a few seeds of civic curiosity and leadership! Thanks to Saint Paul's Hayden Heights Library for providing the space for us to learn.

Many Point Scout Camp 2024

Yesterday, we spent the morning helping Ben Yang with his Eagle project.

Ben decided to do his project at a local non-profit organization called Bridging MN, which provides new and lightly used furniture to low income families and families in need.

Ben decided to buy and build a total of 10 dressers with the help of friends, family members, and his fellow scouts. The dressers were donated to Bridging which will eventually be donated to families in need of furniture for their new homes.

Great job coordinating and organizing this, Ben! You did a great job! Not only did you complete your Eagle project, you will also be making a difference in people's lives.
