What a beautiful morning we had at Lake Phalen yesterday for the 2026 C.O.P.S. & Joggers 5K/10K Run.

Thank you to everyone who came out to run, walk, volunteer, donate, sponsor, or simply support our mission. Seeing our community come together to honor our fallen officers and support the families and co-workers left behind means more than words can say.

As we kick off National Police Week, we are reminded that these families continue moving forward every day carrying loss, love, and resilience with them.

Good morning everyone. ☀️

Today is our 2026 C.O.P.S. & Joggers 5K/10K Run at Lake Phalen supporting Minnesota Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors - COPS and the families and co-workers of fallen officers.

There’s still time to join us this morning. Registration will remain open until 8:45 a.m. if you’d still like to run, walk, or even volunteer.

Chick-fil-A Maplewood will be there handing out chicken biscuit sandwiches and we’ll have cold refreshments from Reyes Coca Cola Bottling.

One week out.

Yesterday marked 16 years since Officer Joe Bergeron, Maplewood PD, was killed just a block from Lake Phalen.

There’s a memorial rock there now. You’ll be able to see it from the course near the water stop.

When you do… take a moment.

Think about what that rock represents.
A life. A family. A day that changed everything.

If every fallen officer in Minnesota had a marker like that, there would be over 300 across our state.

That’s what this run is about.

Not just miles. Not just a finish line.
But remembering the ones who never made it home.
