Minnesota Humanities Center

Minnesota Humanities Center https://linktr.ee/mnhum The Humanities Center is a resource for the state of Minnesota and is affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The Minnesota Humanities Center collaborates with individuals, organizations, and communities to bring transformational humanities programming into the lives of Minnesotans throughout the state. Founded in 1971, the Minnesota Humanities Center is a statewide nonprofit organization and full service event center located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Humanities Center offers a new way to think about

our future, grounded in the humanities, and collaborates with organizations and individuals to develop programs that facilitate and frame conversations and strengthen connections. Using philosophy, literature, art, music, history, language and more —we focus on what unites us not divides us – bringing the humanities out of the scholarly institutions of yesteryear and into the lives of everyday Minnesotans.

OMG Studios and Minnesota Humanities Center are excited to announce the premiere of their latest film, “The Making of America,” to be held at the Minneapolis Institute of Art Pillsbury Theater on June 28. The premiere will include a film screening, post-screening panel discussion, and art exhibit. Directed by Monique Linder, and produced by OMG Studios in partnership with Minnesota Humanities Center, the film explores how Enlightenment-era systems of knowledge—art, science, architecture, and cartography—produced enduring frameworks for racial slavery, territorial extraction, and Indigenous dispossession in what became the United States of America. The film is the seventh in the Juneteenth Reckoning with Slavery film series from OMG Studios.
