After several years and generous support from the Sauer Family Foundation, The Institute to Transform Child Protection is proud to announce our new video project on mandated reporting — a critical, often misunderstood area at the intersection of law, social work, and lived experience.

ABA Center on Children and the Law

Mitchell Hamline's Institute to Transform Child Protection and the ABA Center for Children and the Law are pleased to be holding the 2025 National Multidisciplinary Parent Representation Conference in St. Paul on May 1-2, 2025. The planning committee is accepting proposals for plenary, workshop presentations, and discussion sessions. Proposals are due by 5 pm Eastern time on November 14, 2024. Registration for this event will begin in January. Priority registration opens first for non-attorney advocates including social workers and parent mentors/advocates working on parent defense teams, with the second wave of registration being open to parent defense team members, including attorneys, supervisors, managers, and supporters. Anticipated registration cost is $175.

Attention relative and kin caregivers! The Institute to Transform Child Protection is excited to partner with Ampersand Families for a legal advice clinic on Friday, September 27 from 12 PM to 1:30 PM.

This is a FREE virtual legal clinic for relative and kin families hoping to be a permanency resource for a child in foster care.

Here's what you can expect during the clinic:
- A brief “Know Your Rights” presentation
- A 1:1 consultation with an attorney
- Connection, support, and resource sharing
