The Minnesota Building Families Act did not pass the 2026 legislative session.

💔 We are heartbroken.

But we are not done.

Every story you shared. Every email you sent. Every time you showed up in orange — that mattered. That built something. And that doesn't disappear today.

Infertility doesn't take a session off. Neither do we.

We will be back. And we will keep fighting until Minnesota families have the access to the care they deserve.

Mother's Day is complicated.

For millions of people, today isn't just about brunch and flowers. It's about sitting with grief, hope, and exhaustion all at once. It's about loving someone you haven't met yet. It's about fighting harder than anyone around you can see.

If that's you this weekend, we want you to know: you are seen. Your fight is real. And you are not doing this alone.

The Minnesota Building Families Association exists because infertility isn't a lifestyle choice or a personal failure. And the size of a person's bank account or their zip code shouldn't determine whether or not you can get the medical care you need to treat infertility.

This Mother's Day, we're honoring every person in this fight. The ones who just started. The ones who have been at it for years. The ones who are taking a break. The ones who are celebrating a hard-won win.

Barriers are real.

So are solutions.

Barrier: Families pay out of pocket for medical care because fertility care is not covered by insurance.

Solution: Comprehensive insurance coverage for fertility care.

Barrier: Minnesota doesn't require insurance companies to cover fertility care, making it optional for them.

Solution: Pass the Minnesota Building Families Act to provide the access families need.

Today is Day 4 of NIAW and we are asking you to take action. Email your State House Representative and ask them to support fertility coverage in MN. It takes 2 minutes and we know hearing from you directly makes a difference to lawmakers.
