RossmorArt The Rossmor Building began life as the Foot, Schulze and Co. shoe factory in 1916.

By mid-century the company had folded, and the building became commonly known as The Rossmor. In the 1970’s the building owner began leasing studio spaces to artists, and soon the Rossmor became recognized as the home of the Saint Paul arts scene. As time wore on and tenants pulled all-nighters, more people starting living in their studios, creating a kind of speakeasy artist apartment building. I

n 2003, the building was sold to a developer and converted to residential loft condominiums. Though the floor plans and the tenancy of the Rossmor have changed dramatically in the last few decades, it is home to a new crop of resident artists, and with it’s 30+ guest artists, is a must-see destination on the Saint Paul Art Crawl.
