Please welcome Fresh Traditions 6th designer, Shang Thao Berg.

Shang is the designer of Zen Fusion Designs. This is her second time showcasing her collection at Fresh Traditions, where she blends contemporary fashion with cultural inspiration and personal storytelling. Her goal is to one day launch her own clothing line. Over the past year, through grant-funded opportunities, Shang has traveled to Thailand twice and Bali to expand her knowledge of the fashion industry, network with fellow designers, and connect with manufacturing companies. She believes there is always more to learn and has embraced every opportunity along the way. Each journey continues to inspire her creativity and strengthen her passion for designing clothing that celebrates culture, confidence, and individuality.

My name is Pafoua Her, and I am a designer, content creator, and entrepreneur with a deep passion for Hmong embroidery and traditional craftsmanship. I founded this Hmong fashion boutique because I have always admired the beauty, artistry, and cultural significance of Hmong handmade embroidery. Beyond fashion, my vision is to create opportunities for Hmong women in developing countries by supporting their entrepreneurial dreams and helping preserve traditional textile arts for future generations. I love creating beautiful handmade embroidered clothing that celebrates Hmong heritage while empowering women through meaningful work. Many of our pieces feature vintage and pre-owned handmade embroidery, making each garment unique and rich in cultural history. I proudly collaborate with skilled homemakers and artisans in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and China. Through these partnerships, we help provide sustainable income opportunities while showcasing the remarkable talent, creativity, and craftsmanship of Hmong women around the world.

Our mission is simple: to honor Hmong culture, support women artisans, and share the beauty of authentic handmade embroidery with Hmong women and admirers of Hmong fashion everywhere.

Welcome Fresh Traditions 4th designer, K.C. Moua.

I’m delighted to be selected as a Fresh Traditions designer this year. My name is K.C. Moua. I like to call myself creative enthusiast - I simply create by means of sewing, crafting, drawing, etc. whatever I’m most enthusiastic about at the moment. It’s not uncommon to catch me working on multiple projects at one time. My experience comes from a lot of DIY-ing, watching my grandmother work her paj ntaub projects - what are now priceless masterpieces - and growing up with parents who were business merchants in the early 90’s selling and designing Hmong fabrics, traditional notions, clothing and anything else that you would have needed to create our unique cultural wear at various weekend flea markets, Hmong New Year celebrations, and events. I am also a big fan of cosplay - the art of dressing up as your favorite super hero, anime characters to attend comic and anime conventions. I have been creating super hero costumes for my kids since they could sit as babies. We love showcasing my work at local comic and anime conventions yearly.

For Fresh Traditions Fashion show of GLOW this year, through thoughtful discussion and planning with my non-official 10 year old daughter/designer assistant, my concept has to do with glow throughout a natural day. I am creating pieces that reflect the movement of glow from sunrise to midday, dusk, and night. I plan to incorporate some of my cosplay experience into the pieces that I make while sharing with the whole world our beautiful Hmong culture and hope to inspire my daughters to be fearless go-getters as well as other young girls and DIY moms at home like myself.

Meet our 3rd designer, Tseng Thao.

Hi, I’m a local Minnesota fashion designer blending contemporary style with my rich heritage. I have lifelong love for fashion that began as a little girl, captivated by runway and design shows. My creative passion was sparked early, yet it was only recently that I found the courage to dive into the industry—inspired by the rising wave of Hmong artists and creators breaking new ground. I create my current collection to redefine traditional Hmong fashion with a modern, fresh aesthetic. Deeply rooted in empowerment, my designs encourage Hmong women to celebrate their bodies and move with absolute confidence.

Looking forward, I plan to expand my vision by creating a dedicated line for Hmong men, inspiring them to proudly and confidently own their identity. My mission is to merge my culture with modern fashion, creating pieces that empower both Hmong women and men to stand tall, love their skin, and celebrate who they are.
