Back-to-school time can be especially difficult because of the extra costs associated with childhood education, and child support can provide the stability needed to sustain a child’s wellbeing. Unfortunately, some parents use child support to manipulate their former partners. August is Child Support Awareness Month and BWJP’s National Legal Center on Children and Domestic Violence works to inform the courts about this dynamic, to proactively support families with histories of domestic violence and abuse, and to ensure child support agreements are truly equitable for parents.
