This is why we do what we do. The general public wants to think that this does not happen in their back yard, not in Minnesota. This happens everywhere. Anywhere you have people willing to exploit women, children, boys, men. Trafficking has no boundaries, no race, no ethical or cultural prejudices saved no social class status. Rise up, stand up. Do it now.

Authorities now say 17 women and underage victims were rescued and are getting help after law enforcement raided four hotels in Brooklyn Center last week as part of a human trafficking, drugs, and weapons investigation. According to the CDC, millions of women in the United States have experienced abuse from a partner, and we know abuse often includes much more than physical violence. Psychological aggression, financial control, and other tactics can make a victim feel small and powerless without ever leaving a visible wound. And barriers to finding help and support are challenging for many women, and often worse for women who are already marginalized and underserved in our communities.

Every woman deserves to be safe in her relationships, in her home, and in every aspect of her life. Learn more about domestic violence and the resources that are available: https://buff.ly/66MvP1F
