Brittney Baker has made history as the first African American woman to become a captain in the St. Paul Fire Department. She was promoted to captain in early 2024 and previously held the distinction of being the second Black woman hired by the St. Paul Fire Department in 2018. Baker now serves as a mentor and lead instructor for the department''''s EMS Academy.
