🎓 "On October 5, the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Justice sent a joint letter to every state attorney general with a straightforward request: help make sure schools follow federal parental rights laws. The letter asks attorneys general to work with school districts on compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA).

FAIR members may recognize the subject. In September, we shared the Department of Education’s annual back-to-school guidance on these same two laws. The joint letter goes a step further by asking state officials to take an active role in enforcement, so districts will likely feel more pressure to get their practices right."

Homeschoolers, it’s that time of year again! Forms are due October 1st!

❓Who has to report?

All homeschooled children who are age 7-15 by October 1, 2026, need to be reported. If your child is 16, they do not need to be reported any longer (unless 16 was your first year. If 16 was your first year, you must report until 17.)

❓How do you register?

We recommend the MACHE template for your initial or continuing form:https://www.mache.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Annual-Report-to-School-District_0.pdf

Upon your first year reporting and again at 12yrs/7th grade you must also submit vaccine records OR a notarized exemption. Just as with the letter of intent- less is more with exemptions. They don’t need to know your reasons and you aren’t asking for permission. You are simply notifying them you are filing. You may use the state form, write your own note or use a template like ours here: mnrights.org/forms

This paperwork is due by October 1st.

📝 If your child is taking part in PSEO, you must continue to report regardless of age.

📝 If you public or private school now but you change your mind at any point during the year, you have 15 days from removing your child(ren) from school to submit this paperwork.

Our Survey & Endorsement Committee reviews candidate responses, issue records, community relationships, experience, and demonstrated support for health and parental rights.

We’re grateful to every candidate who has participated- and especially to those who have consistently listened to, worked with, and stood beside Minnesota families.

Minnesotans for Health & Parental Rights congratulates Dr. Scott Jensen on his primary victory and is proud to endorse him for Minnesota State Auditor.

Scott has been a longstanding advocate for Minnesota families- as a family physician, State Senator, and public voice for medical freedom, informed consent, parental rights, and accountable government.

He also brings a particularly strong background for the Auditor’s office. Scott has experience with fraud-focused legislative work and his local bank board, giving him practical insight into financial oversight, governance, risk, and accountability.

He knows how to ask the right questions, identify when something doesn’t add up, and follow the money.

At a time when Minnesota is facing serious concerns about fraud, waste, and mismanagement, we need an Auditor who will demand accountability while understanding that legitimate families, patients, and disability services should never become collateral damage.

Scott Jensen has the experience, financial savvy, judgment, and courage for the job.

MHPR is proud to endorse Lisa Demuth and Ryan Wilson for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota 🇺🇸

Throughout this election cycle, MHPR has evaluated candidates based on the issues that matter most to the families we represent: parental rights, health freedom, medical decision-making, protection of vulnerable Minnesotans, disability services, government accountability, and respect for the constitutional rights of families.

Lisa Demuth and Ryan Wilson have earned our support.

In conversations with MHPR, both affirmed the positions included in our statewide candidate survey, including strong support for parental rights and health freedom.

Lisa has been unequivocal in her commitment to parents:

“ALWAYS Parental Rights, Always.”

She is also a proven advocate, not simply a candidate making promises. Lisa stood against government mandates, supported the Parents’ Bill of Rights, and has consistently defended the principle that parents- not government- should remain the primary decision makers for their children.

She also brings years of legislative experience, a demonstrated record of leadership, and firsthand knowledge of how to turn principles into policy in a divided state government.

Ryan Wilson brings a strong constitutional and legal background and a demonstrated willingness to challenge government overreach- not simply in campaign rhetoric, but in court. His experience fighting COVID-era restrictions and his previous statewide campaign for State Auditor also give him valuable experience in government accountability, oversight, and fraud prevention.

Both Lisa and Ryan have affirmed the importance of protecting disability services and avoiding unnecessary disruptions to the services vulnerable Minnesotans and their families depend upon. MHPR strongly supports rooting out fraud, waste, and abuse. We also believe those efforts must distinguish between fraudulent providers and the legitimate services that allow disabled Minnesotans to remain safely in their homes and communities. Lisa and Ryan have demonstrated a willingness to listen to families directly and engage seriously with these concerns.

Perhaps most importantly, we believe this ticket combines principle with the experience, leadership, and ability to govern necessary to actually move Minnesota in a better direction.

Following their victory in the Republican primary, we congratulate Lisa Demuth and Ryan Wilson and are proud to give them our full endorsement for the November election.
