Obituary of Thomas Francis Ethier
Age 95 of White Bear Lake, formerly of St. Paul, passed away unexpectedly on April 21, 2023.

Preceded in death by wife of 54 years Phyllis, parents Irene and George Ethier, brothers Paul, George, and Robert.

Survived by three wonderful children Diane (Kevin Johnson) of Santa Rosa, CA; Bryan (Sara) of St. Paul; and Gail (Eric Skaar) of Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren Alex and Zach Ethier and Freya Skaar; and brothers Leonard and Jerome (Carolyn) of St. Paul.

Tom was a letter carrier with the US Postal Service in St. Paul with routes on the East Side and later downtown. He enjoyed a second “retirement career” with Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant. He was an avid reader and subscribed to and read The Wall Street Journal up until his last day on earth. Tom enjoyed discussing current events (in a good way), was generous to those in need, and shared many wonderful memories and life lessons with everyone who knew him.

Special thanks to the staff of The Waters of White Bear Lake, plus niece Joanne Spindler and friends Patti and Randy Siefert for their support getting Tom to his doctor appointments and keeping him well fed. Memorials preferred to Second Harvest Heartland, Highland Friendship Club (St. Paul) or your favorite charity. A celebration lunch for Tom will be held May 18, 11am-1pm at Ideal Hall, 1494 Dale Street North, St, Paul.

In the meantime, please raise a toast to Tom and a life well lived. Cheers Dad!
