This Labor Day, we’re shining a spotlight on why Youth Employment Programs like Right Track are absolutely essential! 🌟

Over the summer, our incredible YJ2 Intern, Charlotte Brown, tackled a major paradox: we expect young people to have experience, yet entry-level jobs are harder to find than ever. Our job market has shifted, and we must bridge this gap by opening doors to both entry-level and high-level positions.

To tell this story, Charlotte did it ALL—the research, storyline, illustrations, animations, script, and voiceover for this video! 🎨🎙️ Saint Paul’s youth are brilliantly talented and ready to work.

It’s time for cross-sector, cross-industry, and early partnerships to step up and elevate the endless possibilities our young people bring to the workplace. 💼✨

We were absolutely thrilled to host over 80 amazing community members who shared their personal journeys, insights, and stories during our Career Panels and Reflection sessions. Our Right Track Interns got a front-row seat to learn directly from inspiring leaders across industries and sectors! 💼✨

Over the past two days, more than 200 supervisors representing professionals across industries joined Right Track’s annual supervisor training as we prepare to launch 700 youth internships this summer.

The Right Track program is more than just a summer job. For over 20 years, the city has worked alongside 100+ partners to provide meaningful employment and training opportunities for Saint Paul youth. This year, we saw nearly 3,000 applications. Our young people are ready. They are eager to work, to learn, and to contribute to their communities.

When we invest in young people, we are investing in safer neighborhoods, stronger communities, and a more equitable future for Saint Paul.

Congratulations to our Right Track Supervisors of the Year, Thao Vue and Cindy Helback, and our Public Sector Employer of the Year, Stephen Smith. Your leadership, dedication, and commitment to young people truly set the standard.
