Over the past two days, more than 200 supervisors representing professionals across industries joined Right Track’s annual supervisor training as we prepare to launch 700 youth internships this summer.

A big thank you to Kayla Richards for engaging our team in meaningful training on adaptive supervision, and to Mayor Kaohly Her for joining us in recognizing our partners.

The Right Track program is more than just a summer job. For over 20 years, the city has worked alongside 100+ partners to provide meaningful employment and training opportunities for Saint Paul youth. This year, we saw nearly 3,000 applications. Our young people are ready. They are eager to work, to learn, and to contribute to their communities.

When we invest in young people, we are investing in safer neighborhoods, stronger communities, and a more equitable future for Saint Paul.

Congratulations to our Right Track Supervisors of the Year, Thao Vue and Cindy Helback, and our Public Sector Employer of the Year, Stephen Smith. Your leadership, dedication, and commitment to young people truly set the standard.

On Monday City of Saint Paul - Government Right Track Program welcomed over 1,500 people into the Historic Roy Wilkins Auditorium in Downtown Saint Paul! Over 950 youth applicants for our YJ1 Summer 2026 program had the chance to engage with 60+ prospective employers to learn more about internship offerings for this Summer. Mayor Kaohly Her and her office joined the fun to engage with participants and collect feedback on “What rising together in our City could look like”. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event possible, including Metro Transit, who offered FREE bus rides to all participants!
