Hello Sisters!
Below is a copy of the email that was sent out from our Alumnae Chapter Bursar, Rachel H King regarding dues information. Please read it through and let us know if you have any questions.
"Hi Members and Prospective Members -
I wanted to give a little more information on Alum Chapter dues as we approach our "special election". Normally dues for the year are $50 due in May time frame. For the 2020-2021 year, we suspended dues, largely because of the pandemic and not being able to hold the normal events we would have (which is what we spend the majority of the dues on). Hopefully we can resume activities this summer in some capacity which may be a lower price for 2021-2022 (to be determined by the new Bursar and E-board).
Why pay dues?
1. You must pay dues to be an official member.
2. Because they are a very affordable $50/year or less
3. Because just like your collegiate local dues, we can do more with our resources pooled together than we can apart. It enables us to provide and pay for bigger and better events, helps support our local chapter, Iota Zeta, through Founder's Day, alum events sponsorship and donations/gifts, and helps to support the Foundation.
4. You also can vote and help us shape the chapter.
5. If we don't have a minimum number of dues paying members, we won't have an alum chapter 🙁
What if I'm not sure?
If you are wondering what being a member is like before you pay, we are starting a new policy this year that allows you to come to two free events and "try it out" first. Hopefully, you find it as fun as we do! If you still are on the fence after your two free events, no problem, we will be charging a $10 fee/event, plus any additional costs, to help us pay for the overhead and help us have bigger events for you to enjoy!
How do I pay dues?
There are two easy ways to pay dues via credit card or check. Our next post will have information on how to pay dues.
Questions?
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
We would really love to have you be a member and welcome any input or suggestions you have! Help us to be the best alum chapter we can be!
Thanks, Rachel"
