After taking some time this past year to explore various avenues to promote ...

I'm THRILLED to share I am RElaunching my 501c3 non-profit partner program MentalFitness4All this fall in partnership with Vera Fitness in St. Paul, Minn.!

That's where I'll be hosting a series of special 40-min mental fitness training sessions for the community in preparation for the holiday season during two weekends in November (Nov 8-9 and 22-23).

There's SO MUCH PAIN in the world that I don't even know where to begin...

And we just cause MORE pain when we don't heal our own...

Especially when the pain we carry isn't just limited to our own family or village or local community...

We quite literally have the weight of the World on our shoulders...

Or rather, in our hands. 🤳

Yet there seems NO TIME ALLOWED to process and heal from one tragedy to the next...

And it's killing us --- if not with violence with stress-related disease.

Because before we even understand our own human condition and how to care for it, we're being sold MORE toxic technology, products, media, and devices...

That are in fact LIMITING our cognitive function, and not "smart" at all.

So I hope we start doing more GOOD with it by using technology to educate about the brain and nervous system...

And HOW to better care for our own and each other's...

That REQUIRES giving our brains and nervous systems TIME to heal and recover...

By putting our phones down more often, to REALLY PRACTICE emotional regulation and impulse control (powers of our prefrontal cortex).

Now go give someone a HUG who needs it...

Your nervous system and theirs will be BETTER for it!!

Exciting changes ahead as I've been working with lululemon Mall of America to supplement my mental fitness work since March...

That's allowed me to prioritize my OWN mental health and fitness while keeping 4D Fit Mental Fitness and MentalFitness4All.org going (that will continue in a part-time capacity)...

Since being self-employed isn't always the easiest way to regulate stress!

In my personal and professional experience, the lululemon space at Mall of America Official is special in itself, like an oasis of positivity...

Like a fitness studio that's "more fluff than rough" (as I like to say)...

Where comfort is embraced as KEY to motivation and well-being, and not something to be discouraged or avoided...

That allows people to work WITH their nervous system rather than against it...

If only we ALL understood and accepted what our brains and nervous systems need to optimize health and function from the inside-out...

That's my continual aim!

As part of my own mental fitness journey, I've also learned to let go of old perceptions and expectations that no longer serve me (that's not always easy!)...

Including what "success" means as an entrepreneur...

By embracing the twists and turns, and prioritizing those things that make me feel GOOD at home or at work...

(Because otherwise WHAT'S THE POINT??)

Including uplifting people, music, movement, and spaces that foster a culture of true inclusion committed to human health, fitness, and well-being...

To empower every person to BE their true and authentic human self...

So here's to YOU challenging old perceptions and expectations that no longer serve YOU --- to be YOUR true and authentic human self in all areas of your life --- to prioritize what brings YOU happiness, peace, and comfort too!

One of my incredible advisors (Dr. Lisa Lovelace, Psy.D., L.P. of Synergy eTherapy) suggested I create an infographic to illustrate the difference/relationship between and ...

That really got me thinking about the importance of understanding .

When we don't understand or care how we function, we put both our health and fitness at risk.

This is also why understanding is as important as understanding physical diversity --- to understand what each individual needs to thrive and optimize, to adapt and perform their best, to achieve their full potential --- that is never one-size-fits-all.

When it comes to optimizing mental health, fitness, and function, the most important thing to know is how to regulate your nervous system based on what YOU need to optimize outcomes, including performance, achievement, and well-being.

To make it easier, here are the 4 R’s of Mental Fitness used in 4D Fit Mental Fitness training to take the incremental steps YOU need to optimize your nervous system and mental function:

1) Recognize
2) Regulate
3) Redirect
4) Reinforce
