National and MN Recovery Month may be over, but the movement continues! 💜

We’re joining this year’s virtual Faces & Voices of Recovery Recovery Leadership Summit, with creative ways to connect, ask questions, and learn alongside recovery advocates from across the country.

One special highlight: a panel bringing together pioneers who helped shape the modern recovery advocacy movement 25 years ago - right here in St. Paul, Minnesota!

The 2001 St. Paul Summit helped launch a national movement that changed how communities see, support, and advocate for recovery. As Minnesota’s statewide recovery community organization, MARCO is proud to carry that legacy forward through our mission to educate, advocate, and mobilize the grassroots recovery movement.

How should we honor this Minnesota legacy beyond Recovery Month? A community celebration? Stories from the original advocates? Public art? Something else entirely?

Huge shoutout to Kameron Peak, who received the Champion of the Cause Award tonight! So well deserved for the incredible work she’s doing across Minnesota. 👏

MARCO had such a fun night at the Steve Rummler HOPE Network Gala celebrating and spreading the word about the lifesaving work Rummler is doing across our state.

We’re also proud to partner with Steve Rummler HOPE Network on the Harm Reduction Summit, coming back again this January!

Such a great night celebrating great people doing really important work. ❤️

As National Recovery Month comes to a close, we’ll leave you with Beth Elstad’s story. Beth shares why organizations like Recovery Alliance Duluth exist: to make recovery visible, reduce the stigma around addiction, and bring people together.

Her message is for everyone. We’re all part of the same community, and we all have a role in making it a place where people can find connection and support. Let’s keep showing up for recovery all year long. 💜

Stop 12 and the final stop of MARCO’s Minnesota Recovery Road Trip: Recovery Alliance Duluth! 💜 What a great note to end on—so many resources, welcoming people, and sloppy joes.

This month has been filled with hope and people showing up for one another across Minnesota. As National and Minnesota Recovery Month come to a close, the work continues year-round. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us along the way.
