Justice for AJ We also want fair and accurate media portrayals of who AJ was and how he died. AJ was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead on December 3rd.

Justice for AJ is comprised of AJ Stewart’s family, friends, and community members working with the family to AJ's killer is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. On December 2nd, 2021, “AJ” Stewart was stabbed by Brian Kjellberg because Kjellberg was angry that people kept parking in the alley near his home. AJ was in the process of leaving the area and was hoping to drive away (thus ending t

he parking issue) when Kjellberg confronted him. By Kjellberg’s own admission, Kjellberg prevented AJ from accessing his own vehicle, then stabbed AJ in the chest with a sharpened steel pipe Kjellberg built specifically for confronting people who parked near his property. Brian Kjellberg has been charged with second-degree murder, and an Omnibus hearing is set on that case for January 3rd at 2:00 p.m. (additional information to follow). We are in the process of gathering additional facts about what happened to AJ. We have reason to believe that Brian Kjellberg acted with malice and premeditation, and we have reason to believe he acted with racial animus. We started this page as a way to honor AJ’s life. Our goal is to raise awareness about our son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. We want him to be more than a statistic, and we are resolved to see that justice is done in his name.
